A hate crime is considered as crimes that "are committed by individuals or organizations of people who engage in antisocial and illegal behavior and pose a danger to agents of the criminal justice system and to the general public" (Lushbaugh & Weston, 2016). Also, hate crimes are often directed toward African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Jews, gays, and even the U.S. government, whether it is a single individual or hate groups. A great example of a hate crime is when an individual or group commits an act of arson by burning down a place of worship, such as a Muslim mosque. This form of hate crime occurred on December 12, 2015, when Carl Dial was arrested for suspicion of a hate crime, burglary, and arson when a mosque in Coachella Valley
