Why is there hate in this world? A world ruled by God, yet hate surrounds us. Perhaps the world does not revolve around God; however, as a Catholic, God is the center of the universe, the light after death. A Catholic believes, evil and hate are a sign of the devil. Hate is universal throughout the world, but the foundation of hate varies. Is murder an indication of hate? The United States murdered Osama Bin Laden. For ten years leading up to Bin Laden’s death, the United States had been at war against Al Qaeda, a “war on terrorism”. However, for Al Qaeda, they are not terrorist. They are only defending their beliefs and their religion of Islam. This was a “war against religion” for Al Qaeda. War is malicious. Al Qaeda wanted to display how their religion, Islam, is greater than other religions. They bow down to their God, Allah. God is altruistic. Until recently, a pivotal choice I made is I will practice the Catholic faith; however, some of my ideologies differ from the Catholic Church. The more mature I become and more experiences I have in life, the more choices I make. The power I have from choice comes from free will, an ability to act at one's discretion. Simple yes or no define who I am. One of the best choices I made is playing field hockey for high school. I was considering soccer, but when high school started, I wanted to try something different, to try a different sport and meet new people. This decision has had such a positive impact on me because it made the transition to high school easier. One simple choice I made three years ago still has a positive impact in my life. Throughout time, some choices I make now might have a prodigious impact in my life or they might mean nothing in the future.
