Many people suffer from mental health challenges. Often times individuals need a place to go to obtain help both mentally and physically. Mental health problems can affect a significant amount of people. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood (“What is mental health?”, 2013 ). Mental health problems can become prevalent at any stage of life. It is important that those mental health problems be addressed and what better way to address those issues is to reach out to the local community to find those resources that can help assist in emergent and non-emergent mental health care.

The mental health care needs of many children and adults have been overlooked for quite some time. Nearly one in five adults experience a mental health issue at some point throughout their lives, yet due to the challenges in accessing and obtaining affordable health care, many have gone without adequate treatment (Mental health by the numbers, 2015). According to SAMSHA (2013), 2/3 of America’s 45 million adults suffering from mental illnesses, and 90% of our country’s 21 million adults struggling with substance use disorders go without treatment each year (SAMSHA, 2013).
Mental illnesses are very common in the United States, with one in five of adolescents having a diagnosed mental illness and in the last year less than half of these adolescents have received proper treatment. The most common mental disorders, anxiety and depression, can disrupt daily life and result in suicide, which is the third most frequent cause of death in teenagers (“The Office of Adolescent Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services”). Ten percent of adolescents did not have health insurance in 2013 and those who did, had a very limited amount of mental health care services provided to them (“The Office of Adolescent Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services”). It has been proved that it is even less likely that adolescents who are poor, homeless, gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender will receive the care that is necessary for their health and even life (“The Office of Adolescent Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services”). Mental disorders are not only an

Leaders and managers are beginning to understand just how important engaging their employees can be to the bottom line. Finding ways to engage employees can give organizations an advantage over their competitors in the marketplace.
It is the responsibility of the organization to create healthy and motivating work climate characterized by openness, enthusiasm, trust, mutually, and collaboration” (academia.com, 63)
Since the origin of mental illness is bio-psycho-social, mental health services are provided by a team that consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and social workers. Mental health care in the community leads to better treatment outcomes and a better quality of life for people with chronic mental disorders. Treatment of patients in a community instead of psychiatric hospitals is cheaper and allows respecting people’s rights.

Before actually understanding about Employee Engagement, it is necessary to understand certain other concepts that relates to this particular topic.
Employees are key to creating sustainable competitive advantage. Consistently, research has shown that employees who are engaged significantly outperform employees who are not engaged on several different key performance metrics.
