Good health can be seen as important contribution of a high function thriving society. Health is defined in many ways; however I particularly identify with the World Health Organization definition of health as the state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing, not just the lack of disease. The way the United States perceives health reflects throughout the health care system. Throughout recent years there has been several comparisons with other countries which I believe are important in pin pointing the advantaged disadvantages of health care system. With notions of the United States health system and information on other countries health system I have formulated ideas for what I believe to be my ideal health care system.
As a developed country the United States should have a universal health care system. No one should be denied proper health care regardless of their economic, social or health status; I believe that health care should be a right not a privilege. Everyone from residents to citizens of the U.S that pay taxes should have access to health services. There should be a mandate that requires health insurers and provide to guarantee access. My ideal universal coverage would provide basic health services while other health care needs can be accessed through additional coverages and plans through regulated providers.
The cost of providing this universal health coverage is perhaps the most intricate and difficult task to determine. The government should…
