Immunizing patients is vital for healthcare providers to do to maintain the health of our population. Within the research one thing maintained the same and this was the need to advocate for our clients, whether they are children or adults. Along with advocating for our clients we need to inform our patients and their parents (if they are underage) of the benefits of vaccination. There are risks to vaccination and it’s not for everyone, such as, in most cases the immunosuppressed. That is also another reason why our healthy population should vaccinate to help protect those who cannot be vaccinated. The immunizations may be updating little changes at a time but what will always remain the same is people need to be educated and informed on why
system fights such illnesses, and ways to harness and enhance our natural ability to combat
Childhood vaccinations have not been a topic of controversy until recent times. Due to the recent outbreaks of diseases that were thought to be eliminated, people are now investigating vaccinations. State representatives and Congressional people have even gotten on the bandwagon to emphasize the importance of vaccinations. Many states already require children to be vaccinated before entering school, but states allow religious, medical, or personal exemptions. Getting rid of these exemptions would be beneficial to not only parents and children, but also to members of society. Having children vaccinated at a young age when the immune system can respond correctly to vaccines will benefit the future health of children. Children are more at danger at a younger age to catch infectious diseases. Vaccines are a safe way to prevent the child from getting sick. “Proponents say that vaccination is safe and one of the greatest health developments of the 20th century”
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulate all vaccines to ensure safety and effectiveness. No federal laws mandating vaccination exist, but all 50 states require certain vaccinations (exemptions allowed) for children entering public schools (ProCon.org, 2013). Children who are not vaccinated have a higher death rate than children who have obtained vaccinations. There are many arguments as to whether vaccinations are safe for children to receive. Vaccines should be a requirement for children because they help prevent diseases, minimize the risks for some disease and increase economic benefits.
To revert such adverse outcomes, as advance health providers, we need to educate our patients about the importance of getting vaccinated and staying protected. The public, in general, requires a higher understanding of the two fundamental reasons of vaccination, which includes protecting ourselves and protecting those around us. Successful prevention depends on the initiatives of every individual to get vaccinated to avoid the spread of diseases ("Adult Immunization: Shots to Save Lives",
There is much debate to whether or not children should or shouldn’t be vaccinated. Every day there are many children and even adults who have died from diseases that could have been prevented before they came up. Immunizing our children is important so that they will stay healthy and so will other children around them. Children are at the most risk for developing diseases when they are growing up. They will play amongst other children and can potentially bring home germs and a common cold. Nowadays, many diseases are being eliminated since parents and their children are being vaccinated. If parents decided against vaccinating their children, there could be some serious consequences. Diseases can be spread and there can even be fatalities if the diseases were left untreated. Vaccinations are extremely important because lives would be risked every single day by many parents deciding against vaccinations for their children. They should also be mandatory for every child, even if they do not attend schools. Parents protect their children from many things; diseases should be one of them.
In today’s society they’re thousands of children that are not being vaccinated because of the unconcerning knowledge of the parents not knowing the side effects: long-term or short-term. A side effect is an harmful or unpleasant effect of a drug or a medical treatment. Babies and children are more than likely to experience an unpleasant effect due to their very weak immune system.Babies and children are not like the adults and the elders. When infants are born their immune system in not fully developed but the doctors vaccinate them to help fight the germs. Children are vaccinated for the same reason because it helps them fight bacteria and bad viruses. Babies and children should be vaccinated
As health care professionals our first line of defense against any diseases is prevention and education. From taking care of our patients’ to providing valuable information related to health services which are all essential for the overall well being of the patients’ and as well as for the community. Every day we are making sure we give our patients the latest information that will benefit them in the long run for example explaining to our patients’ and their loved one importance of receiving the flu shots during flu season. Vaccination when given is intended to be given to all ages. There are many people that can benefit from the vaccines, especially the ones with the weak immune systems mostly the elderly adults. Sometimes not getting
With a development of media and technological ways of social communication, is it vital to trust information from the reliable sources. Many people who do not trust or not satisfied with the quality of medicine, and usually quest the material from unreliable sources. Therefore, matter of reliability of immunization is still a huge topic for debate. For example, people sometimes rely on anecdotes, rare cases or even opinions that they have heard from others. The following article presents different point of view of the opponents, and emphasizes the evidences that support benefits of immunization.
Benjamin Franklin spoke of the remorse he felt relating to his son’s death and regret of not vaccinating him when he had the chance; he wrote “in 1736 I lost one of my sons, a fine boy of four years old, by smallpox, taken in the common way. I long regretted bitterly, and still regret that I had not given it to him by inoculation. This I mention for the sake of parents who omit that operation, on the supposition that they should never forgive themselves if a child died under it; my example showing that the regret may be the same either way and that, therefore, the safer should be chosen.” Franklin did not vaccinate his son because he was already ill with another disease; he did not want to risk his son’s health by vaccinating him and causing
It is very important to vaccinate all Children, Teen, and Adults because immunization can save your life against more disease than ever before. Some of the disease that killed thousands have been eliminated completely because of begin vaccinated. For example Polio is one example that had a great impact on vaccines. Polio was once America’s most- feared disease causing death and paralysis across the county. Vaccinations are a safe and effective vaccines are only given Children, Teen, and Adults after careful review by scientists and healthcare professionals. Yes, some vaccines will cause some pain, discomfort, Redness, or even tenderness at the injection site. That is all minimal compared to the Pain, Discomfort, and Trauma a disease can cause.
The importance of vaccines for children has a large impact on healthcare and my future practice. Therefore knowing what programs are available is critical to increasing the vaccine rates. Over the decades, there have been devastating consequences resulting from preventable communicable diseases as well as programs and strategies to assist in increasing the immunization rates. This paper will explain and critique the program called “Vaccines For Children”. This paper will also include how I will adapt this program in my future pediatric practice.
Vaccines like any other medication have different side effects, some being more harmful than others or those who are still unknown. Information regarding vaccinations and their safety is still very confusing. Laws regarding vaccination vary by state, pediatrician and other providers have different views and websites contradict themselves (Vaccines, 2016). Vaccinations have many benefits and those benefits outweigh the risks.
In today 's world, many would like to think horrible illnesses and sometimes fatal diseases are not real. Sadly, these illnesses and diseases are very much real. Many of the world 's children die from diseases that can be prevented by a quick trip to the doctors office. There are many controversies when it come to vaccinating. More or less people make excuses not to vaccinate, but when everything breaks down, the benefits of vaccinating your children exceed the risks of not vaccinating your children. Many reasons include: illnesses are only a plane ride away, vaccinating is proven safe and effective, and vaccinations are at your disposal, and save you time and money
Furthermore, there are beneficial reasons for embracing vaccinations for one’s children. Children are especially vulnerable to disease because their immune systems have not yet developed, and getting a serious illness can have
“Standard immunization currently averts an estimated two to three million deaths every year in all age groups” (“General Information”). Children along with adults should be vaccinated because these Inoculations prevent diseases, even deaths, from going around, along with keeping the environment a safer place. As people know, kids get vaccinated from the time born to about the time the child reaches teen years, although getting immunized does not precisely stop at any age. In fact, required vaccinations continue throughout the years. Of course these medical treatments must be tested in order to be given to anyone. In spite of the fact many people themselves argue that inoculations are not safe for children, others are thoroughly certain in
