My personal objective for enrolling in a health sciences program is to make a difference in people’s lives. My main goal is to help individuals experience their highest potential. I intend to accomplish this with my professional goal of completing the health science program, which will prepare me for medical school to become a doctor. As a medical doctor, I want to specialize in geriatrics to help the older generations maintain their independence and support them through the struggle of aging. Working as a nursing assistant for three years, has shaped my long term goal to be a geriatric doctor. I have worked two years at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster, WI, and I am currently working for almost a year at Samaritan Bethany and Charter
Caring for the health and well being of individuals not only eliminates suffering, but also enables those individuals to impact the world in their unique way. This is an opportunity to practice the heart of science in a hands on and meritorious approach. Furthermore, my career in health care would include researching new advances in medicine, techniques and procedures. The developments that can be made from this element of health care are inexhaustible and would favorably effect the entire world. Likewise, the life changing secrets and advancements waiting to be unlocked invoke my heart and mind to the challenge, as it once did in that biology classroom. I ardently hope to employ my academic work in science to this cause both before and after
The healthcare sector offers a variety of professional opportunities that include pediatric, geriatrics, public policy and many other areas in which I hope to make a impact towards. I have always been intrigued by medicine and continue to gain more interest in public health. In the future, I desire to combine both medicine and public health by participating in an MD and MPH program. My experiences and education provide me with constant motivation in achieving my goals.
A time in my life in which I have been successful is when I graduate from college. Even though this was my second degree I was going to receive, it was the next stepping stone to heighten my career in healthcare. It was an uneasy decision, but I was determined to achieve my Bachelor’s in Science in Healthcare Administration.
A health profession is what I desire to study in college and pursue as a career. Going to the Fox Valley health career camp would allow me to experience and learn about medical professions. This opportunity will give me a variety of careers to consider besides the ones I am looking into. The health professions that I am interested in are radiology, athletic trainer, and a registered nurse. The purpose for me to go into a health career profession is to help others, learn about the structure of the human body and how the human body works. I am aware of the fact that it takes more than knowledge in a health profession. Doctors need patience and know how to communicate with their patients. Going to the health career camp will give me knowledge
My goals for the next ten years, would be to get accepted to medical school and to graduate from medical school. Specifically, my top three medical schools that I would love to go to would be Oklahoma University Medical School, University of Colorado School of Medicine, and Oklahoma State Center for Health Sciences. To be honest though my top three are the places I would absolutely love to go to, I would gladly take a medical school that would accept me. Currently my plans for a specialty in medical school is endocrinology or immunology, I love the way that the body interacts with itself and how it is able to get confused and attack itself is probably my main interest in the specialty. My goals after I graduate medical school are, working in a hospital somewhere in Oklahoma, preferably in Oklahoma City or Tulsa, and work there as a resident for a time until I would be able to open up my own private practice or join a private practice and continue my health career from there. One of the things that has become increasingly interesting with me is Doctors Without Borders, which may end up being something that I would participate in after medical school during my residency or around the time that I would join a private practice.
As a student, I strive for excellence in my academics and school involvement to pursue a career in the medical field. By taking rigorous high school classes such as IB, and honor courses,
My educational goals are attending a four year university getting a bachelors degree in science with a minor in chemistry. Throughout my time in university I would also like to become a certified Phlebotomist and EKG technician. With obtaining my bachelors in science and minor in chemistry this will be a step towards my final education goal in applying to a master program to become a Physician Assistant. Being able to understand and know health scientific problems has been a lifelong goal of mines helping people to know more about what they can do to prevent or become better has always been my
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner Student (FNP) at Frontier Nursing University (FNU). My passion to care for people was evident when I was growing up and I knew I wanted to become a nurse and care for the sick when I cared for my grandmother who was not feeling well. After high school, I started my career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CAN) and worked with the elderly population which I really enjoyed. I worked as a CNA as I enrolled to school and earned my Associate degree in nursing in 2011. As an RN, I continued to work in a nursing home and rehab facility with the elderly as I decided to pursue my BSN. Upon completion of my BSN I found a job at a hospital in cardiac telemetry heart failure unit where I enjoy working as I care for people.
When I was in high school, my great-grandmother became ill and came to live with us. Before school, after school, and during the weekend, I helped take care of her. This gave me a sense of pride and during that time, I realized how fulfilling it is to help people. I did not start out on the path to be a part of the medical profession, but I always had the desire! I have often given of my time volunteering at the Agape Senior Care facility. Now I am well on my way to becoming a medical assistant (MA)!
Personal Statement I was drawn to the medical field due to my exposure to health implications faced by mother and myself. During my senior year at Montgomery College I diagnosed with thyroid disorder which led to hyperthyroidism. As a care giver for my mother who suffered from dementia my feeling was to build and maintain outstanding health care services which began to form. The affordability and quality of health care that my mother and I have received is something that I have always taken for granted as every citizen should have right to access to the highest standard of physical and mental health. My goal is to create an important contribution to the health of people in my community through efficient management and delivery of health care services.
In terms of educational goals, I'm shooting high and am hoping to get into a good Ivy League school (such as Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, or Columbia) or at least one of the highly acclaimed medical schools (such as Stanford, John Hopkins University, or the University of California in San Diego). When I finally begin college, I'm planning on going into the Nurse Practitioner or Pediatrician field of medicine. As of my high school years, I'm keeping my grades up and doing well in school; I've been trying to step out of my comfort zone and do more things that will get me out into the "real world" such as volunteering more often and applying for various programs to prepare myself for the future such as this Perry Outreach Program. I'm
Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of working in a hospital. My dream was to be a doctor or a nurse. In the fall of 2014, I became a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). During the experience of volunteering at a nursing home, I realized that direct patient contact was not my calling. I researched many websites on the Internet and found that Health Information Technology would be the perfect job for me. This career mostly involves a hospital setting and clerical work, which I thoroughly enjoy doing.
Originally when I thought I liked medicine the only term I knew was “doctor”, so for a while, that's what I wanted to become. However through exploration, I found that there were many different types of medicine, and by examining what I enjoy I'm now interested in working in pediatrics or geriatrics. If I’m accepted into this program, I hope to grow in my basic knowledge as well as explore many different potential pathways to help further decide what to pursue. Another career I'm interested in is nursing or becoming a nurse practitioner. Many of my relatives have found joy in nursing and through them, I’ve seen the many sides of medicine that

On many occasions my personal goals have come before my professional aspirations. A career in the medical field has always been something I have looked forward to. As a child I wanted and dreamed of being a doctor, however due to the choices I made in life and the priorities that I had not thought of, I have come to realize that my childhood dream may not come true. Yet, I was able to compromise and make short and long term goals that will lead me into a career in the medical field. My long term goal is to enter the medical field world and be a respected contributor to it. I want to be able to help others in the time of need. In
