The data found was from Washington States Health Youth Survey Online Analysis in 2014 for 12th graders. “The Health Youth Survey is a collaborative effort of the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the Department of Health, the Department of Social and Health Service’s Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery, the Liquor and Cannabis Board, and the Department of Commerce. They provide important survey results about health of adolescents in Washington.” (1) The Health Youth Survey question on race/ethnicity asks “How do you describe yourself?” which is broken down into American Indian of Alaskan native, Asian or Asian American/Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, Black or African-American, Hispanic or Latina/Latina, White or Caucasian, and More than one selected/Other. For the lifetime cigarette smoking, just a puff question asks is “Have you ever smoked a cigarette, even just a puff?” which is answered by a yes or no. Based on the data from the table it doesn’t agree with the hypothesis. The table shows that over 60 percent of each race/ethnicity have not smoked a cigarette even just a puff. From the data the most race/ethnicity, which responded “yes” were American Indian of Alaskan native with 38 percent (19 respondents). The second were Hispanic or Latina/Latina with 36.8 percent (573 respondents). Next came the respondents who selected More than one selection/Other race/ethnicity with 36.1 percent (121 respondents). Then came the Black or African-American with 33.5 percent (53 respondents). Next with the second least were the White or Caucasian with 30.8 percent (573 respondents) and with the least likely were the Asian or Asian American, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander with 22.4 percent (72
