Healthy Eating Habits for Children 0-5 Chelese Smith ENG/101 November 6, 2011 Tanya Akopoff Healthy Eating Habits for Children 0-5 Chips, cookies, candy, and ice cream are all unhealthy junk foods for children; but children love to eat them. If a survey was conducted asking children which junk foods they love, they would very likely mention those listed above. Often experiencing name calling such as fat, porky, and fat so always seemed to hurt so much. Although, still struggling with obesity as an adult, it has giving me courage to do what’s best to make the needed changes in life. Setting goals for my family and not allow the same thing to happen to them. One important method parents can use to help their children from becoming obese is to help them to stay active in daily activity. Exercising is vitally important to the health and wellbeing of your children. Incorporating exercises into your child’s life doesn’t always have to be something that you should beat them over the head to do so to speak. With children it is easier to do activities which are fun, entertaining, and that keep them wanting to continue to do daily. Incorporating activities such as dancing, playing kick ball, basket ball, baseball or even soccer are just some activities that children like to play. Incorporating these activities into your child’s daily exercise routine will add a superior structure and foundation for children to continue to do on a regular basis. Doing so will be fun and they will be more likely to do them because they are not boring and it doesn’t seem like it is a task. Another Vitally important aspect of establishing healthy eating habits early in life is to control the portion size that you children eat.
