It is important that “Healthy Hydration” be thought of as a necessary or life sustaining service so as to get as much support as possible. In order to get financial support and donations of printed materials and bottled water, awareness of the dangers or dehydration in the elderly and the necessity of this program must be a priority. Numerous forms of media, including radio, television, and print could be used to achieve this. It would be crucial to design and implement a quality website that included testimonials, donor forms, and is full of images of the many different types of people this program serves. Funding Funding “Healthy Hydration” should not be that formidable as bottled water is generally inexpensive. Since, providing additional information regarding this life threatening condition is important to the success of the program, it is vital that the program finds discounted and free information posters and pamphlets regarding the importance of staying hydrated and the dangers of dehydration. Fortunately, free printed materials are often available for health related service programs through local organizations and online. Since employees will need training regarding dehydration and recommended fluid intake, it is important to budget and plan for the costs and sources of training before implementing the “Healthy Hydration” program. Organizations such as the National Family Caregiver Support Program along with the AOA work in with other state and local groups to offer free trainings for informal caregivers so as to promote aging in place (National Family Caregiver Support Program, 2015). If free trainings are not possible or training is not accessible to all employees, adult daycares could still train their employees somewhat economically. This means that there will be a greater number of elderly people needing to be supervised in adult daycares. Employees will have to be more diligent in making sure the growing number of clients drink more water, do not exhibit signs or symptoms of dehydration, and carefully keep track of their fluid consumption while at their facility. Caregivers and employees at adult daycare centers will have to be more diligent in making sure that those who are showing signs of dehydration get proper medical treatment. Also, bottled water can take up a good deal of storage space. Facilities will have to find a place to store water along with their other supplies in a way that is safe and practical. In addition to receiving training about the needs of elderly people, and other related topics, employees would also have to receive training about the signs, symptoms, and dangers of dehydration and the amount of recommended fluid intake. This could be time consuming and difficult to schedule on to of daily job duties. Also, there may be many expenses associated with these training such as equipment or room rental, cost of a trainer, supplied food and beverages, and materials which may cause the adult daycare financial hardship. The center manager or owner would need to assess the knowledge of the employees about dehydration and fluid intake before and after training. And, the
The challenge America now faces is the number of people reaching retirement will double in number by 2030, and the U.S. population will increase almost 20 percent ("Our Aging Nation," 2015). The goal is for the elderly to maintain and live with independence and dignity, as well as, provide a wide range of professional health and social service expertise, home care, and residential support and services that will be needed ("Our Aging Nation," 2015). Since the number of caregivers needed for this population will not be able to meet the demands other resolutions are considered necessary.
Fresh drinking water is made available to the children. They are informed how to obtain the water and they know that they can ask for it any time during the day.
In the U.S, one in four will be aged 60 years and older by 2050 (U.S. Census Bureau). This represents an overwhelming number of people who will either be in the caretaker role or be the ROC. Like today, most of the care will be provided by informal unpaid caregivers. The number of informal unpaid caregivers is expected to rise from 20 million in 2000 to 37 million in 2050 (Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation [ASPE], 2003). Because of the burden of care giving, many caregivers will experience depression, poor health and quality of life (Etters, Goodall, & Harrison, 2008). Their well-being is an important public health concern.

With home care becoming the next wave of long-term care services that will help keep Baby Boomers out of institutional programs and skilled nursing facilities, it will require a supplemental add-on support for family members or the at home caregiver as respite care and compensation for this care will have to be financially addressed. Adult day services provide the aging adult with physical exercise, social activities, and cognitive engagement. The Baby Boomers independence and acknowledgment of traditional long-term care institutions will bring change to the style and type of adult day care activities offered, as they are more engaged with technology, and at keeping themselves as active as
Providing care for a person with dementia is like being on a roller coaster ride that never ends and the ride can make the caregiver sick. In order to discuss dementia caregiving, a definition of dementia and the impacts of dementia are needed. Dementia is the generic term used by health care professionals to describe a person’s symptoms of memory and judgment issues (Alzheimer’s Association, 2015b) and furthermore is a growing problem in the United States of America (USA) and around the world. Currently 5.3 million people in the USA have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or other dementias, and dementia numbers are expected to increase by 40% in the next decade (Alzheimer’s Association, 2015a). Dementia care is
Staying hydrated is so important to your overall health, Tina. I recommend you drink at least eight glasses of water a day. By glasses, I mean that each glass should be at least 8 ounces. If you find it hard to drink this much water, try adding a sugar-free water flavoring to the water. This can help make the water more appealing to taste and you can change the flavor each day. Just be sure the flavoring you add is sugar-free because high sugar drinks will increase your blood sugar. Even though it can be hard to drink water, it is vital to help keep your blood sugar levels down. Water also helps to keep your kidneys working properly. When taking your diabetic medications, be sure to drink a full glass of water. By drinking that full glass of
Assisted Living Homes are designed to provide residents with basic everyday assistance. An important aspect is that assisted care facilities provide a safe and comfortable environment for older adults who need assistance with duties such as bathing, dressing, shopping, cooking, grooming, arranging doctor’s appointments, medication administration and laundry services. These facilities have social and recreational activity programs designed to keep the residents active. The recreation groups provide residents with activities for enjoyment, exercise, and interactions with others to build character. Special activities such as luncheon,

In the Exhibit 4 we learn that people between the ages of 18 - 44 years care about the water quality as they raise more concerns about the water quality. The faucet mounted system stands for better water quality, so this segment is likely to have higher interest in the new product. Especially young parents care very much about the health of their children.
This article is about the importance of staying hydrated. Water makes up more than half of our body, so it is important that we are always well hydrated. In your body, water dissolves nutrients, aids digestion, disposes of toxins and waste, maintains body temperature, and helps produce energy. On average you should have at least 8 glasses, or 64 ounces of water a day.
My first nutritional goal was to drink more water, I had always struggled with drinking water. Months ago I would go hours without drinking water I would notice that my face would get puffy especially in the mornings. I didn’t realize that my body needed water until I read an article that talked about how our body may react to no drinking enough water, it talked about puffy eyes and that dehydration may cause this. I initially thought that it was because I wasn't getting enough sleep but since I started drinking water I notice that my face and eyes were not as puffy as before. I managed to archive this goal, now I try to drink at least 7 to eight glasses of water which is about half a gallon a day. Achieving this goal was not easy at all, drinking water was hard for me I dislike the taste and did not enjoy it at all. I was having a hard time the first two weeks, then I decided to add fruit to my water, I bought a water bottle that has a diffuser which made it easier. I used all kinds of fruits for example strawberries,

Dehydration is a problem that can be fixed easily through self-awareness and a conscious effort to drink. Many techniques exist to help facilitate and encourage water consumption: making drinking water a habit; keeping a liquid journal; and making water more appealing. When the questionnaire was completed, 50 copies were done to administer. After collecting all questionnaires from the respondents, the tally system was applied and data was conversed into figure and percentage. Therefore, the drinking water habits of overseas students could be identified.
