Everyone talks about living a healthy life, however, very few people actually make an effort to live one out in their day to day lives. Many people believe a healthy life implies looking good and feeling good, but what does a healthy life really look like? In today’s society, a healthy person is described as one who does not smoke, does not drink in excess, has a healthy weight, eats healthy foods and exercises regularly. How many of us actually do all these things? In this day and age, it is not easy to commit to a healthy lifestyle because healthy food can be expensive and people are too busy to exercise daily, however, leading a healthy life is one of the best decisions a person can make because it will impact all aspects of their life – physical, mental, and emotional (Lewis NP). “Every food we eat provides the body with a range of nutrients, each with its own role to play. Eating a balanced, varied diet every day will ensure that you have everything you need for good health, including foods that provide energy, fiber, protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals” (“Food for Life”). According to Healthy Lifestyles Living, “Many health issues are addressed with exercise, nutrition, and other healthy practices in one’s day to day life.” Although nutrition and adequate amounts of exercise are key importance’s to being healthy, there are many misconceptions about what healthy nutrition really looks like.
