Healthy Lunches In Schools

Do you think that students should have a say in what they eat for lunch? Even though healthy lunches are required by the state, children are refusing to eat the green vegetables on their plate. Students aren’t used to the healthy food. A couple years ago, schools started to serve whole grain and more healthy foods. Students don’t want to eat healthy every day for lunch. They want to at least have normal pizza, not whole grain dough and low fat cheese. Students don’t find that appetizing.
Some students at schools aren’t getting enough food at lunch time. Students refuse to eat the green veggies on their plates when it comes to a healthy lunch. What we need to do is lend a hand to the schools that are struggling, not roll back the standards and say, 'Oh, well. The kids don't like it, so let them eat cake.' We can't afford to do that." "It's so important for our schools to make the hard calls for our kids, because parents are struggling enough at home. So once you make that decision to set the rules, you don't want to be undermined when your kids go to school and have some sweet cereal for breakfast with chocolate milk followed by a doughnut and then a burger and fries for lunch," she said. "That's why we're in the state that we're in right now, in regards to the epidemic of childhood obesity." She does have a good statement. That would make a lot of children obese if this was the case. They have great statements, but schools should have a little bit of a lenient menu.

Students don’t like as much healthy food as they should. This is not something that they should get in trouble for. From greasy food to all healthy food, I wouldn’t want to eat it either. Kids might actually eat something on their plate that they actually
