Please write for me a Hebrew definition of salvation. The Hebrew’s salvation could be traced back from Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and then to Joseph’s whose name was later changed to Israel. Now, these are the founding fathers of the Hebrews. Salvation to the Hebrews simply means deliverance. As Noah found grace in God, his life and that of his family were preserved from an eminent destruction of the earth and this story could be found in the book of genesis 6:13. It was also recorded in the book of Genesis 12: 1 God delivered Abraham from his father, who is an Idol worshiper. God delivered Abraham’s wife Sarai and Isaac’s wife Rebekah from childlessness and also this scripture could be found in the book of Genesis 18:12 and Genesis 25:21. …show more content…

Pharaoh the new king of Egypt became frightened and then he began to enslave the Israelites, the more they were struck them with hard labor the more the Israelites multiplied. God in his infinite mercy heard the outcry of the Hebrews; Exodus 2:24. God appeared to Moses in the form of a burning bush; Exodus 4:16, God showed his sovereign power in the land of Egypt. The Israelites were eventually delivered from the Pharaoh when they crossed the red sea. So: who was this god? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is known as YHWH. The characteristics his sovereignty; because is a jealous God, the Hebrews were not allowed to bow down or worship any gods. What characteristics did this deity have? He is the God of deliverance, as evident in the book of Exodus 6 vs 6 as God delivered the people of Israel from bondage in the land of Egypt. He is also known as the God of war; Exodus 23:23, God sent his angels in the battlefront against the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, Hivites and the Jebusites. In the book of Deuteronomy 4:24, The Hebrew God is a consuming fire. Also, in Exodus 14:13-14 the Hebrew know him as the God of salvation. After the Israelites had crossed the red sea.
