Page 1Page 2Page 3 Donor cyclist When speaking on safety laws it’s very important to keep in mind of not just the individual but also the other people around also because safety is very important I have seen many horrible and terrible accidents involving motorcycles you can search the internet and easily find video’s that just show how horrible motorcycle accidents can be, so I understand why the helmet safety law was implemented not only for the cyclist alone but because with the recent practice in the medical fields doctors are able to help and save the life’s of other people which is a great thing so yes the helmet safety helmet should be and stay implemented. Another great reason that the helmet safety law is great is that helmets now a days, come with visors to protect your eyes, when I was doing my research I was quite surprised how many motorcycle accidents where caused by bugs yes I do mean bugs, when you are driving at a certain mph you are going to run into quite a few bugs and
the helmet covers your whole face and head in order to protect you face from getting kicked in the face after getting bucked off. wearing a helmet is required if you are under 19 years of age. i feel that the helmet should be required for all ages.( in bull-riding you try to stay on a wild, 2,000 pound bull, some with horns the size of my arm. These bulls have tight straps around there butt to make them kick and jump harder. And all you have to hold on to is a single rope. if you fall of, the bull can stomp, trample, or horn you, and you could break bones from the fall (bull riding, 2015). So in the case of safety i feel that helmets should be required for all ages and at all
Should people under the age of 18 be required to wear a protective helmet while skateboarding, in-line skating, bicycling, snowboarding and skiing? I believe truly believe so. The thrill in these activities, are to speed jump tricks and ride.
The Fairview athletic administration should consider getting new equipment, especially football helmets. Many people think that the helmets are fine but they aren't. They feel like a giant rock against your head. Why should we not get rid of them? When you get hit by someone in the head it feels way worse than it would be with newer helmets.
The use of protective headgear in contact sports has been a major issue of discussion amongst the sporting community for many years. Some people believe that headgear should be compulsory for all contact sports because they decrease the rate of catastrophic head injuries and they give the athlete a greater sense of security that there will be less head injuries. Others believe that headgear should not be compulsory, but instead optional, because they are an added cost to already expensive sports and they don’t offer any protection against concussions which can lead to brain damage and other problems in later
Football is one of the most sports that involve interaction with other players, such as the opposing team. The interactions can lead up to very dangerous injuries. Especially injuries leading to concussions. Researchers are working to prevent concussions and minimize the rate of head injuries created by direct impact lead by injuries from football.
Have you ever had a concussion. Were you wearing a helmet. Well even though helmets cannot prevent every concussion but they definitely lower the number of concussions every year. Helmets save lives said Dr. Nav Persaud a doctor at a family center in toronto. There are about 70 cycling deaths per year with helmets we could lower that by 28.5 %every year. In some places around the world it is illegal to not wear a helmet if you are below the age of 18 which proves that helmets can prove concussions.
One issue that is a major part of concussion prevention is how the equipment is actually being processed and the tests done on the equipment to be able to show level of protection that can be provided, such as helmet strength and padding. For many decades, the standards for helmet protection was focused more so on preventing injuries, such as fractured skulls, than it was on concussion preventions. The National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) has recently revised its standards for helmet protection. NOCSAE does not make or produce helmets but rather creates and sets the testing standard for the helmet; standard tests include the “drop test” where a weight is dropped onto the helmet from certain heights to test how well the helmet reduces the linear force. Other tests that have recently been added include testing the rotational force a helmet can bare and also helps to simulate any angle that a force may come from, just like a hit during a football game. This is also “…another step forward because rotational forces
Have you ever played a sport, that injured you or give you a concussion? Safety always comes first. Especially, when you're doing something that can get you an injury really easy. Having protective gear is important, mainly in sports. Some sports should have protective head gear. Protecting your head is important, and every part in it. Half of the sports are usually contact sports, which getting hurt in the head can be more of the chance, which is bad. As well, getting hurt in the head has many consequences which no one wants to have. Many athletes get concussions and it’s not good. 90 percent of the times, the person is conscious while having a concussion, the other 10 percent, there are unconscious. Therefore, protective head-gear
From my perspective, there should be mandatory helmet laws throughout the United States. I have witnessed the injuries and losses of lives from those involved in accidents. Some wore helmets and some did not.
Yes, In my opinion helmets should be required Because football players used their own masses, when they get tackled their body weight has a lot of mass that is coming from their bodies, If they don't use a Helmet they can get really bad injuries for not using the correct protection and even worse death.
Many people think that to wear a helmet should a personal desition and should be not mandatory. After all, if harm is cause for not wearing a helmet, it will be a personal harm and no a general harm for society, “People have the right to chose their own poison” (Rosenstand, 255).
With many concussions and brain injuries that football players have acquired recently, football helmets have become a piece of equipment that teams are now viewing more closely. From the school’s perspective, they have the duty to provide proper and safe equipment to their players. They must supply equipment that appropriately fits every player. Manufacturers should make certain that their products are made correctly and are safe for player’s to wear. When accidents happen, the blame goes on the manufacturer because they actually created the product. Most states have the rule that the manufacturer indemnifies the seller as long as the seller passes along the product unchanged. Schools with limit equipment and personnel budgets should ensure
The compulsory wearing of helmets does reduce the number of fatalities associated with motor cycling and pedal cycling accidents. Data from a variety of studies overwhelmingly supports this fact. When discussing motorcycle helmets, there is a 40% prevention of fatal and 13% prevention of nonfatal serious injuries associated with their use, according to Adam, et al. (1453). After Florida repealed its mandatory helmet law in favor of one that allowed helmets for those over 21 with $10,000 in insurance to be optional, motorcycle fatalities increased across the state (Hooten and Murad, 1329). According to Boone, et al., the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimated that the use of helmets prevented 1,630 deaths in 2013 and could have prevented 715 more if all motorcyclists wore helmets (3). In a study of almost 17,000 patients admitted to the hospital for motorcycle crashes, 37% of the riders were not wearing helmets. These 37% accounted for 69% of the deaths among these patients (Dua, et al. 1184).
While some may argue that motorcycle helmets take away their freedom on the road and oppose their constitutional rights; helmets should be required to be worn by all motorcycle riders because they prevent skull, brain, and spinal cord injuries. Helmets prevent wind and debris from getting in the driver’s eyes, and its costs tax payers less money to treat helmets wearers than non-helmet wearers.
Legal factors: Legislation enforces all the motorcycle riders to wear a helmet when on a motorcycle and if found without one, fines are applied. Financial incentives for the states were repealed by the Congress wherever universal helmet laws were not enforced. Licensing of motorcycles is required to be done again in the city even if it had been done once in the suburbs. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is responsible for regulation of automobile and motorcycle emissions.
