Section 1 Be able to reflect on own practice
The ability to reflect on one’s own practice is crucial because you can evaluate your effectiveness and assess how well you think you are doing and identify any areas that need improvement or development.
1.1 Take a note of children and young people’s responses to own practice
My placement is working with year 4 children who I engage with well and I get the general impression from their responses to my interaction with them that they enjoy working with me and that I assist their development.

Team work means that a shared sense of purpose is felt and a common purpose is identified. This bonds individuals into a team and creates the ideal scenario for success and achievement.
The identification and understanding of an individual’s role and that of the other team member’s roles is crucial as is the recognition of how the different roles complement each other and work together.
Regular meetings with regards to roles and aims of the team are a very important part of the process of working as a team. The meetings enable the team to prioritise ways of working together, it enables the team to reflect on progress to date and to set new goals and identify other ways of getting the best out of being a team.
A successful team can be represented by various characteristics which include respect for one another, a sense of purpose, commitment to the aims of the team which are demonstrated every day by each team member and regular communication between team members.
Another very positive factor of a good team with members getting on well together is that it provides a good role model for children, they will recognise the respect the adults have for each other.
3.2 Describe the purpose and objectives of the team in which they work.
The main purpose of team work is:
-To promote children’s learning and behaviour.

A truly effective team building experience will have long lasting effects both on the performance of the team and the organisation and will also act as a stepping stone for future development
Simply by talking with children and young people will help to discover their interests and working with the school will increase my own awareness of ability, individual need and background. Having this knowledge will ensure support I give will be effective, appropriate and individualised for each CYP.

This chapter was about the different elements and skills that can help make collaborative teams work. The authors mention listening, communications, establishing shared values, setting ground rules, defining roles, establishing a schedule, conducting meetings, making decisions, and sharing information as skills that create positive collaborative teaming. For each of the skills the authors then discuss the signs of trouble for each. The role of the administrator is to help the team reflect on the process to make sure that any trouble signs are caught ahead of time and to see what changes could be made to
The first characteristic of effective teams is that the team members should agree to come up with a goal and make some actions to achieve the goal. This characteristic is evident in forming storming and norming stages of team development. When team member come together, know each other and understand each other’s efforts for team work. They set up a common goal and all agree to pay their efforts on it. This like an agreement that make members willing to be satisfied with the common purpose and willing to take action to get the goal.
Specific mission and goals will help peak a team's interest and give the team a way ahead. Teams needs to have open communication and be fully engaged. Specific training on good communication skills will help the team communicate positively. Additionally, roles and responsibilities need to be identified in order to prevent team conflict. There shouldn't be any question of who is responsible for what and where authority lies. Likewise, a team must have policy, rules, and specific guidelines to follow. This will aid is resolving issues which may occur in a team environment. A good team strategy requires building trust among team members and providing specific training on working in a team environment. Teams require the attention of their leaders to ensure the team environment progresses (Cottrill, 1997). Finally, leaders of teams need to have a method to identify and measure the effectiveness of the teams (Hoevemeyer, 1993). The use of inventories and assessments checklist can aid in this effort. This will ensure the team is productive and identify when a leader needs to engage and make corrective actions. A good team strategy will ensure productive team
Working with others means having to deal with all different kinds of personalities; and while working with a team means making sure the key goal is met without conflict. There are several key points of success every team should follow such as; respect, communication, and readiness.
A team can be successful if the members know each other for a reasonable time. Moreover, they can build trust within such a group and as a result it can help them in building confidence to perform tasks better (Mullins, 2010). Thus the time, individuals’ skills, and the size of the group are significant aspects in building successful teams.
There are many characteristics of an ideal team, in this student’s opinion. Some of the most important characteristics include: commitment, respect, trustworthiness and creative. Without these elements, the team will not be successful. The team dynamics include the various characteristics of an ideal team, such as integrity, maturity, authenticity, etc.
Teamwork- Is the ability to work with other people in order to achieve a common goal. This means that it is necessary to partially sacrifice personal ambition and goals.
Another important aspect for team structure is the member roles. Two common types of member roles are task specialist role and social-emotional role. When members adopt the former one, people will help the team to reach its goal and achieve the accomplishment. However, for the socio-emotional role, people will put more emphasis on supporting team members’ emotional needs by encouraging, harmonizing, compromising the teams. In our team, my team members including me are more tend to adopt social-emotional role, we all tend to follow the group decision and no one really argue for
Teamwork is performing work by a team who wants to achieve a common goal and together as efficiently as possible perform actions that will allow him to achieve this goal.
Members of a team can be very competitive and fight for dominance. Members may not necessarily get along in a friendly manner. Therefore, I need to work to improve communication channels and make them cooperate among themselves. Additionally, I need to promote the members to work together as a team. As a team, they need to share information and assist other members if necessary. Finally, I need to set common rules, a shared vision, team values and goals. When the team members know what is expected of them they will form a strong bond to the business and its member’s thus increasing productivity and efficiency.
