“I live life as if I’m dead”, Henry Hudson said. Hudson goes on to explain he has removed his on desires in life, and now attributes his life to the constant work of making a statement- a statement he hopes will teach his friends and family lessons through the assessment of his life. Having 4 children, who take up most of his time- Hudson wants to teach his children “Finish what you start.” Hudson said, so not finishing college is not an option. The only free time that Hudson gets he uses it to go shopping, saying shopping is the only thing that he truly enjoys outside of spending time with his children or the children of family members. With a passion for shopping (as well as children) it has lead Hudson to be on a path that consist of- after obtaining his Associates Degree at ARC he eventually wants to transfer to Sacramento State University where the plan will be to pursue a bachelor’s degree in fashion. In this quote, Wes Moore, the author, was talking about how he felt about the Riverdale campus where he attended school. He said the pristine campus and well-dressed kids had stunned him during his first visit. Wes felt a crazy-making crosscurrent of emotions whenever he stepped on the Riverdale campus.
