Heracles was the son of zeus and a mortal woman. He earned his name when he was eight months old and hera looking to kill him sent snakes into his nursery only to have her plan spoiled by the infant killing the Snakes.
King Eurystheus fearing Heracles would be a threat to his power he commanded him to perform the labors and Heracles gladly declined. Hera then made Heracles go insane and in his instanity he killed his wife and children as he thought they were enemies. Heracles then withdrew from society.
Heracles then sought oath from the oracle of Delphi which informed him if he obeyed the will of the gods by performing whatever labors Eurystheus wanted him to perform that he would be purified of his crime.
Eurystheus then assigned him his

“According to tradition, Heracles was born in Thebes, and was the son of Zeus by Alcmene, who, incidentally, was the last mortal woman Zeus seduced.” The majority of information we have on Herakles is from ancient sources which means that historians over time adapt his story to cater to their needs. This results in different versions of Herakles’ upbringing and relationships with the gods. Herakles’ family relations with gods are significant to Ancient Greek society because gods and myths were the explanations of the origins of humankind that were involved with the everyday person’s life. This means that Herakles is considered higher than common people in this society’s hierarchy.

Heraclitus was a pre-Socratic Greek philosopher, who was born around 500 BCE. Heraclitus is best known for his theories that things are constantly changing, the unity of opposites, and that fire is the basic material of the world. The Milesians consist of three philosophers: Thales, Anaximander and Anaximenes. First there is Thales, who was a pre-Socratic Greek philosopher born in 624 BC. Thales is most well known for his theories that the world derives from water; the world rests on water; the world is full of gods, and soul produces motion.
Hera was born to the parents of Cronus and Rhea. Cronus killed his father, Oranos, to become the king of gods. While Oranos was dying, he prophesied, saying, “You murder me now, and steal my throne-but one of your own sons will dethrone you, for crime begets crime.” Cronus did not want any child of his to steal his power, so
Odysseus told Eurylochus and the rest of his men not to kill Helios’s cattle. They should have listened to him. Odysseus knew that the result of them killing the cattle would be death. Therefore, he warned them that they should not did it. However, they disobeyed Odysseus, and they killed some of Helios’s cattle, making the gods angry.
Heracles, however, was not strictly a god, any more than he was strictly a man: he was both and neither. Within Greek religion, Heracles is unique in his combination of human and divine properties. The Greeks distinguished between sacrifice to a god and sacrifice to a hero. The rituals were different: blood on the altar for one, blood in the pit for the other. The hero-god uniquely received both types of honour. Herodotus tells us that there were in fact Greeks who maintained a double cult of Heracles, with two temples, one for the divine Olympian, the other for the hero. The great hero, Heracles, differs from other heroes, as Geoffrey Kirk points out: in “his brutality, his capacity for dishonesty and his voracious appetites”; yet gross vices too are as much divine habits as human
Hera was the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. She was born on the riverbanks of Imbrasons, under a willow tree. When Hera and her siblings were born Cornos her father, thought one of his children was going to kill him, so he swallowed all of them. Including Hera. Later on when Zeus was born and grew up he killed Cronos, and freed his brothers and sisters.
I Heraclitus, am a Greek philosopher from the native of the Greek city of Ephesus, Ionia which is on the coast of Asia Minor. I was born in 535 BCE. I am of a distinguished parentage. My knowledge is based on self-taught and I consider myself as the pioneer of wisdom. People say I live a lonely life, some say I am full of riddles while others feel that I am nothing but a paradoxical being meaning that I am seemingly absurd or a self-contradictory human. One thing that I know for sure is that I love myself. I have stressed upon the needless unconsciousness of humankind this made most people nickname me as the obscure and others call me the weeping philosopher. I care
Heracles too assumed the rite of passage of the Greek hero. He was born the son of Zeus and the mortal women Alcmene. He too was threatened as an infant. Hera, motivated from Zeus infidelities, made every attempt to destroy him. Firstly, Hera tried to retard the birth of Heracles and brought the premature birth of Eurytheus so by aborting his destiny.8 She sent a serpent into his cradle but the might of the young infant strangled it and survived. During his youth, Heracles turns his prowess to good use. He kills a marauding lion that was devouring the flocks of King Thespius. For the good of humanity, Heracles helps many. As stated by Harris, “Heracles helps many kings – leading armies, defeating armies, and, building and defending cities.”9 This fact is further pointed out by Linda McGuire’s article titled Heracles: Super Hero in which she states Heracles work of restoring order and furthering the common good. “He destroys monsters that threaten crops and herds, rescues the populace from cruel rulers and… overcomes tremendous physical odds and conquers unknown territory, all to organise and consolidate the world into order and deliver it from chaos.”10 Heracles like other heroes was given King Creon’s daughter Megara’s hand in marriage for a reward of helping the Thebans defeat their enemies. However like other heroes in times of peace, Heracles’s traits cause his undoing. In a fit of rage he kills his wife and children, an event
Heracles was born the son of Zeus. Heracles mother was not Hera but Alcmene a mortal. Heracles was born with great strength but also with a hot temper. Hera hated Heracles from the time he was a born. Heracles was sent to a farm to work his temper off. Heracles did his time and worked hard. The King of Thebes aloud Heracles to marry his daughter, but Hera was always one step ahead of Heracles. After, Heracles and his wife had few children Hera casted a madness spell on Heracles causing him to kill his family. Heracles could not forgive himself for his terrible deed so he did twelve of the hardest tasks ever.
Ancient Greek civilizations were constantly concerned with mortality and accentuated the importance of doing Good by following the laws and conforming to societal norms.
