I am writing with regard to my interest in the technical writer position at Molina Healthcare. Since starting in Molina in 2009, and now being with the company seven years with my experience being in the contact center- I grew from an agent taking calls for inbound member services to my current role as supervisor for the HEDIS team. Also, I attended Long Beach City College and have taken courses in Office Studies which include: Microsoft Office, Customer Service, Keyboarding, and Business Communications. As a supervisor in the contact center, my role primarily consists of organizing the needs of the HEDIS team which is done by conducting monthly 1:1s, providing coaching, developing agents, and attending meetings with leadership.
This change in his career path intrigued me quite a bit, Juan explained that if he had to do it all over again, he would have majored in information technology in place of hospital administration. I then went on and asked him about his day-to-day responsibilities, Juan typically deals with troubleshooting and debugging any problems inside of their company’s databases. He also works with his company’s clients on a daily basis. He has a wide range of responsibilities and it was really encouraging to learn that he wasn’t just working on one specific task at a given time. Next I asked him about the career path “ladder” in terms of promotions. Juan explained he hasn’t been promoted yet, but he has made transitions from one department to another department within his company. He told me that he felt as if he was in a “dead end” with his first position at Accretive Health. During his time at Accretive Health, Mr. Rodriguez has been in a couple different departments and involved in business intelligence, special project lead, and now he is currently a business systems analyst.
