The Healer This hero essay is about my grandmother. People always look for someone who is strong and caring to help them in times of need. My grandmother is an example of a true hero. There are certain times when she took care of me when I was sick or I needed her. Furthermore, she had taken time and love to help my grandpa when he got into an accident. Lastly, the confidence she has in her own beliefs to help those in need that are on the reservation. There are many examples of strength and honor my grandmother displays that makes her my hero. Initially, there were certain times when my grandma had taken care of me when I needed while I was sick. I used to run high fevers when I was a kid. There were times when I couldn’t wear anything but a t-shit with over a one hundred degree temperature. Hence, she cared about the importance of our family and put us before herself. According to my parents, she would stay up with me all night to make sure I was happy and safe so my parents could sleep. The amount of affection and perspective she had shown and given me makes me want to follow her footsteps. To continue, my grandma had given time and love to my grandpa when he got into an accident. I remember it like it was yesterday when he had come back home early from work and could barely stand up on his own; he had one of his coworkers to help him stand up. My grandpa was limping in pain and holding his back with his hand for support. In that moment, my grandma had seen the agony my grandpa was in. She was running to help him as if she was the first responder. Regardless of how scared she was we had to take him to the emergency room. He was too stubborn to have someone call the ambulance to help him, but wanted my grandma instead because he knew she would take care of him. My grandpa worked on building a new house and while he was working he was on a ladder, but it was on a slope near the end of the garage. The ladder ended up tipping. He had fallen and was stuck when he caught his foot between the rungs of the ladder. After taking him to the hospital in Devils Lake it resulted in taking him to the hospital in Grand Forks. He resulted having a broken back, toes, ribs, arm, and bruised a majority of his body. It
A hero is someone who understands the responsibility that comes with his freedom. I’m writing this essay to talk to you about what heroes do. Because I believe that our heroes are important and that they deserve the recognition that they do deserve. Some of our heroes are the army, firefighters, police officers, ambulance, and much more. I’m going to list 3 reasons why heroes are important. The following points are: Heroes risk their lives, they don’t care about the fame, and they never give up. One of the reasons why heroes are so important is that they risk their lives for us. Heros do this because they care about the people that need help. They do it because they care about us. Some heroes try to help us get through things like drugs and
“It’s not true that there are no heroes anymore…” (Oliver Stone SB 63) Heroes. Today when we hear heroes we think of superheroes with powers. but have we really thought what heroes really are? Heroes are your regular everyday people that work to the best of their abilities to make a difference in the world. A hero is not someone who thinks about themselves but someone who does things that they believe are right and are admired or idealized for their courage.
A hero is not a person with strength or a person how fight monsters. A hero is a person that inspires you to be the best you can be, a person how tells you that there is nothing in the world that you can’t do, a person how will speak to you in a different way. My hero doesn’t need strength or able to fight monster, but their able to change your life in a different way. My heroes inspire me to be the person I can be today and other every day. The people in my store inspire me to do thing I never want to do but they make me do it by changing my mind. The reason I picked these people because they don’t just inspire me they inspire other people to.
When it comes to heroes, there are many people who come to mind, but the ones that are most special to me are the ones who work towards making our planet and ocean better. Animals and oceans are huge interest of mine and celebrities that use their platform to help create a better tomorrow are always heroes in my eyes. Three of these celebrities that are heroes of mine are Ellen DeGeneres, Angelina Jolie & Maroon 5 but more specifically Adam Levine.
and powers beyond the range of any human. The hero himself bring a mystical quality to the story
My grandma had survived a hard life, and yet managed to raise four responsible, well-educated, and successful children. All this she did while working as a respected psychiatric nurse and a state mental health board member. Although she had had and was still overcoming trials in life, I always knew she would be there and cared about me and my life. As my brother and I grew older and were unable to visit my grandparents as often as we
Heros are so much more complex than they are simple. Heros big or small, real or fictional. Heros can range from someone like Superman to someone like Beowulf or from someone like my mom. This is one reason out of the many of why heroes are so complex. You don't have to slay monsters to be a hero. Your average fictional hero doesn't sound like that does it. Fictional heroes save damsels in distress, hunt for treasure and save the day. But if all the heroes in the world were exactly the same, would they really be heroes? Now a lot of heroes are like but none are the same. They all have different motivations, different goals such as wanting you to have some feeling of comfort after a breakup, killing a monster with their bare hands, telling you that everything will get better after your boyfriend dies, or even defeating a dragon.
Even when we had nothing going for us, my mom still pulled through for us. There’s nothing I believe more than that my mom is the reason that my family made it out of the hole my childhood was surrounded by. If I were to ever go through the cheesy process of writing about ‘who my hero is’, I would more than likely write about my mom and everything she’s done for our
My great grandma has always been nice to me. No matter how sick she gets, she never stops doing things for other people. Every morning people come over for breakfast at her house. My great grandma cooks all the food for them. She is always going to church or praying to God. This is why my Great Grandma is my Michigan Hero.
At a young age and even today we all have a hero; it can range from a character in movies to video games even into literature. Throughout my life I have never been one to enjoy reading or watching movies, my daily activity was playing video games meaning all the heroes to me where inside a video game. Growing up playing numberless different videos games you get a taste at such a diverse variety of worlds, story line, environments, and even items. That being, I have come to learn about quite a bit of characters and some have really stood out in being extra heroic in their actions or just being cooler than the other; Master Chief (Halo), Mario (Super Mario Bros.), and Link (Legend of Zelda).
What would the world be like if there were no Oprah? Oprah is a talk show host who has many loving fans that love her for her support and her infatuated heart. My hero’s journey started a year ago when I met my best friend, Michael. We met online and when we started talking we instantly became friends. He is tall and he is really smart and a good thinker, he loves to play basketball and he being just 16 he has accomplished so much. We had so much in common and I could talk to him about whatever and I knew he wouldn’t judge me. The only problem then was that he lived in Hollywood and I lived in Livermore. After a few months of talking to him we became best friends and we talked about his life mostly. He had depression and I like to think that when we talked I was helping him. We had a lot of really fun moments, we laughed, talked about when we would come visit each other and made plans but we

In 1859 Henry Ward Beecher said, "the mother’s heart is the child’s schoolroom." I believe that statement because of experiences I’ve had with my own mother. I have learned more about life from her than from my 15 years of schooling. Over the last 20 years my mother has taught me many valuable lessons just by being a living example of compassion, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She is an angel that has protected and carried me throughout life.
There have been times where she didn’t have much left for herself, but she took what she had and gave it to someone who needed it way more than she did. You can begin to see what type of person my grandmother is. She’s always smiling and happy that she got to see another day. My grandmother is the type of woman who will go out of her way to see somebody else happy. She tells me every day that the reason she does all the things she does is because she had God to thank, and I admire her for that.
