Hi Merysa! I also grew up in a very religious family. My father is retired from the army and now is a minister, and my grandfather and great grandfather were also ministers. I was taught many of the same ideologies that you discussed in your post. It was not until I was older that I began to challenge their beliefs and question their validity. Now that I am a mother myself, I try to teach my daughter pretty much the exact opposite of what I was taught. I try to teach my son and daughter that both girls and boys are responsible for themselves and that women should never be held responsible for the negative actions of men.
I am currently a 3rd year nursing student at Ryerson University and have recently become extremely interested in physiotherapy. This summer, I had the amazing opportunity to work with the University Health Network as a Patient Observer, where I was able to discuss with many physiotherapists about the nature of their jobs. Every physiotherapist spoke with the utmost positivity when discussing their position even after numerous years of practice. This inspired me to pursue my goal of becoming a physiotherapist in the future as it is something I am very passionate about.

"You've been PLAYED, since you are not even in the game to cast your vote and be a part of your everlasting destiny. A no vote is a vote for eternal HELL, based on your laziness and lack of participation." Jon Barnes
Around 1903 when my parent's died to survive, my brother, Andrew, and I began to perform a musical act on the streets of Chattanooga. I sang and my brother accompanied me on the guitar, often in front of the White Elephant Saloon. In 1912, when Clarence my older brother returned to Chattanooga, he persuaded the managers of his troupe, Lonnie and Cora Fisher, to give me an audition. Consequently, I was hired as a dancer with the Moses Stokes Company, to perform in a show that included the Mother of the Blues, Ma Rainey. Intriguing rumors surround our meeting—legend has it that Ma Rainey literally kidnapped me, that she and her husband forced me to tour with their show, teaching me in the process how to sing the blues. Some rumors say we had
You make a valid point, which is to discern why the evaluation is being used. Can you share the way the program introduced the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Revised Edition? If they agency you work for didn’t how would you introduce it?
Hi Octavia. I also stated some of the same challenges you stated. It’s hard finding a balance between work, family, and studying. You want to be able to interact with your family once you leave work, but your focus should be on reading the next chapter. With me I can get side tracked easily. I’ll end up helping my little girl with her work and then she’ll want to go out for dinner or to play. Once I start to interact with her I lose track of everything. When everything is over, I have to go to bed for work. It’s hard but you have to have self-control. I must say in the past when I was taking online classes I had a great support team. My boyfriend was very understanding and supportive. Someone from my class was always available. It was a great
As a witty and outgoing Gemini, Raquela is a great addition to the batch. Jamming to throwback songs from pop rock to old school hip hop gets her in the mood and super enthusiastic. The friendship bond she has made throughout the years has become a support system for her to get through some difficult high school days. She’s a very honest person and its one of her best qualities. She is keen on subjects such as Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and aims to be a med school graduate in the near future. Also, we can’t forget to mention her love for her pet
My Yiayia is a very special person to just about everyone who knows her. She loves to talk about her memories and experiences of when she was younger. During the interview I was able to hear even more wonderful stories from her past. She was in high school during the 1950s, she grew up in a small poor neighborhood with brick streets, one high school, one factory everyone would work out once they graduated highschool, and one drug/grocery store. She remembers there was a soda machine at the drugstore where people from her school went to socialize but she was never allowed to. Her parents were immigrants from Turkey making her cultural background very important in her life, she was very sheltered throughout her school years, and her family's
Madera High is an ordinary high school in a fairly small town of about 60,000 people. Although the usual picture of bullying portrayed in the media does not occur here, there are still other forms of bullying and harassment that happen often. Cyberbullying has become the new form of harassment that teens use to bully other students. Social media is now the platform bullies prefer to use rather than the physical confrontation that bullying used to be. Through recent years, it has become an epidemic that has taken over the internet and social networks. It has made it even harder for students to get away from the bully or the person harassing them. At Madera High the amount of bullying seen at school by other students and staff is fairly low,
Merle Haggard? Now usually when we say, "Artist," we think painter, but there are many, many different types of artists.
Hi, I’m Catharine Beecher. I was born in 1800, in East Hampton, NY. Does anyone know what i'm involved in? No? Women's education. Do you know why? Well, it all started when the country was in great need of teachers, male teachers were quitting and pursuing work in the developing fields of business and industry. Being myself, I noticed this. I then asked myself what I should do. I decided to get women involved with education and make this better. This is also known as reform.
Hi Scarlett. I think that this type of behavior from adults still exist in our society. From my point of view I think that the adults that use this process of thinking just need to be educated. If I was to hear this type of saying I would voice my opinion by saying that we as adults should appreciate each child unique interest and learning abilities. I will also say that who to say that one day that boy child will become a father and need to know how to perform certain tasks to help fulfilled household duties and the other way around. Our textbook mention that children need stress free playing and learning environment to help promote safe and healthy developmental skills ( The Young Child Development from Prebirth Through Age Eight, n.d).
Growing up in a religious household can benefit the family lifestyle by promoting a greater message of positivity, building more immersed family relationships, and teaching peace over discord.
In this situation, I would go over to the student and sit with them. The goal of Orientation is to make sure that all students feel like they are a part of the Merrimack community. To accomplish this goal, we make sure that no students feel like they are alone. While sitting with the student, I would talk to them about their interest, how they are liking Merrimack, and ask them if there is anything I could do to help
I went to a very small high school around 25 kids to every class. I was able to develop real relationships with my teachers and fellow students. This helped fuel my success in school and in my social life. With Lycomings small class sizes I feel that I can achieve the same success that I did in my high school. Being able to know the person sitting in class next to me and the professor teaching, me makes it easier for me to learn. I was always able to walk into a high school class and make my teachers smile and I believe that I can obtain these same relationships with my professors at Lycoming. I was also very involved in my High School, through several clubs I was able to develop my leadership and public speaking skills. Through several different clubs at Lycoming
