Hi Sky: A Personal Narrative

Giving out Star Reader shirts While in kindergarten and first grade, Challenger K8 rewards student who know about 100 sight words with a Start Reader shirt. I was able to sit with student and they read each word. The students were nervous, but you knew they practice and wanted to succeed. When they read each word correctly I was able to give them their shirts and present the newest start reader to their class. It was a great celebration of support and practice.

Twenty-One Pilots are the first act to top pop songs and alternative songs. Back in February 21 of 2017 was one of the best days of my life. That date was when I went to my favorite band’s concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I will never forget that date, it took place at the BOK Center were many artists go to perform. My mom and I went, my dad also but he didn’t go to the concert. I got two tickets because I thought one of my friends could go with me but they could not afford it. All the money we spent that week was worth it I do not regret anything.

The Magnificent Ballpark Over my spring break I was lucky enough to get to go to Florida with my college baseball team and I got to see one if the most beautiful baseball stadiums in the US, JetBlue Park. I got to watch Florida Gulf Coast take on Florida State at JetBlue Park, which is used as a spring training field for the Boston Red Sox. My initial thought of the field is it’s almost exactly like Fenway Park with the same field layout, the big green monster in left field. Which surprised me because this was only a spring training field, very few games will be played or broadcasted here. This ballpark was unexpectedly nice and an experience I will never forget.

The object given to me was the heart of a boy who I was fond of for quite some time. We spent the summer nights frolicking through green pastures of open land ready to take on the world like an explorer ready to find a new adventure; now what I look back on to be no more than a barren field filled with patches of weeds poking their heads above ground, hoping to catch even the smallest array of sunlight. I spent most of my summer nights with this boy, let us call him James.

I think that my family realized that I had crossed the threshold between childhoods when I began to form my own opinions. This first took hold when I took part in poverty stimulation at my local shelter. I was giving a character and a story behind the card I was given; the story made me become emotionally attached to this name I had been assigned and the family in which I came from. The experience made me question the prejudice of the society I was living in. How many times had I avoided eye contact with the people on the side of the road begging for money? I began a long journey of soul searching and questioning the beliefs my parents had raised me on. My thoughts were continually brought back to a book by C.S Lewis, it was called Out of the Silent Planet; a character named Weston believed that individual human lives don’t matter, they must be sacrificed to save mankind.

A bouquet to Blue Heron Books. I was gift shopping and I found myself gazing, stumped, at shelves of shiny new books. I would’ve left empty handed if not for the friendly service I received. I approached the clerk and asked for help. After a brief description of what I wanted she recommended several books. They were all relevant and I was happy with my purchase. The recipient liked the gift and I can’t imagine what else I could have gotten. I hope the clerk knows I appreciate her individual attention and genuine suggestions. She didn’t pressure me to buy books but rather helped me to find the right gift. This unaggressive manner creates a cozy atmosphere perfect for a local bookstore. In my persuasive essay on “The Star” I have a few things I need to work on to improve my writing. As well as a few things I did well throughout my essay. In order to better myself as a writer I would need to work on my run-on sentences, learn how to not be repetitive, and learn how to properly punctuate my sentences. I had a few run-on sentences and I was very repetitive throughout my essay. Although I had a few mistakes I improved my writing a lot on this particular essay. This time I did very well on my thesis statement. My thesis statement supported my entire essay and I had strong topic sentences that supported my thesis statement. I did not leave my readers clueless to what my argument was. Overall my paper was good I just had a good amount

The last time I remember something changing the night sky in my life time was the comet Hale-bopp back in 1997. I used to sit on the porch on my townhouse and start at it with my Dad. I was only 12 then so I didn't really have the most in-depth knowledge on what a comet was, but it blew my mind into read as much as I could about space.
