When I walked in I was immediately greeted. "Hi, welcome to La-Z-Boy. My name is Johnathan and you are?" He extended his hand for a hand shake. After asking questions to determine my need, the associate let me look around. After four minutes, Johnathan came over and asked me how my day was going. He said, "It has been a hot day today, hasn't it?" Oh yes, today has been extremely hot, was my
Marcus Aurelius Marcus Aurelius was the Roman Emperor from 161 to 180. He ruled with Lucius Verus as co-emperor from 161 until Verus' death in 169. He was the last of the five good emperors, and is also considered one of the most important Stoic philosophers. During his reign, the Empire defeated a revitalized Parthian Empire in the East: Aurelius' general Avidius Cassius sacked the capital Ctesiphon in 164. In central Europe, Aurelius fought the Marcomanni, Quadi, and Sarmatians with success during the Marcomannic Wars, although the threat of the Germanic tribes began to represent a troubling reality for the Empire.

The Parthenon is a beautiful building located in the center of Athens atop of the acropolis. It was built to help Athens become the most beautiful city in all of the Greek city-states. The project of building the Parthenon began in 447 BC by Pericles, the ruler. The structure is more than 200 pous long and 100 pous wide. The Athenians were careful, not to make the building too tall making it appear flimsy nor too wide making it appear squat. The Parthenon is built in one of the three orders used to build buildings in ancient Greece. The order of the Parthenon is called the Doric order. The Doric order is the most simplest and is also the lowest and widest. The Parthenon is a temple that was built to honor the goddess, Athena. Both in and outside
Ms.Boycusulickio -abbreviated to Ms. Boy- was enjoying her day, relaxing on the vast advanced starship that she called home. She was an alien that had planned to leave for Earth in an attempt to control their government and media to persuade the humans to obey her through her YouTube videos of daring and dangerous stunts, like teaching. Suddenly, there was a sudden obnoxious buzzing coming from her wrist, she looked to see who could have called her at this time. Turns out that it was her superior who had messaged her with a report with utmost urgency. ,”Ms.B,” said in a loud booming voice that could shake the halls of the ship.”I have called you with some urgent matters, me and my colleagues have decided to commence our persuasion on Earth
The green-emblem boy did not waste the opportunity, kicking the gun out of Alexis’s hand, causing more unwanted trauma. As she cussed profusely, the green-emblem boy ran in the opposite direction, hoping a stairwell would lead to the ground. The outdoor conditions were making it difficult to locate an exit: crackling thunder, luminous bolts of lightening, and torrential rain obscured the boy’s vision. As he surveyed the area, a flash of scarlet-red energy roared past his head. The green-emblem boy dived to the ground, noticing that Alexis had a contemptuous look on her face, as she furiously pursued the boy. He scurried to his feet, desperately seeking refuge from her violent attacks, but soon found himself cornered on the edge of the building. Peering
Dwight and Caroline’s relationship can be characterized into three stages. From its inception Jack and Caroline had a relationship based on infatuation alone. Their relationship consisted of passion alone for each other. Caroline was sexually attracted to Dwight, as was he to her. Caroline was infatuated with the person Dwight appeared to be. She was turned on that he was nice and charming and knew how to treat a woman. When they first began to go out Caroline adored the fact that he brought her flowers. Dwight was simply interested in Caroline for what she had to offer him. The passion alone is what got him to that level. Soon after their relationship developed into a Fatuous Love. In the beginning of the marriage the couple’s
During the 1930’s, equality was not like it is today. Race was a common issue during this time. White people believed they were worth more and better than black people during this time. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the issue of equality is an ongoing theme throughout the story. Aunt Alexandra is a minor character in this story.
“You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.” This quote by Paul Sweeney describes exactly how I felt after reading and watching Tobias Wolff’s memoir This Boy’s Life. After I closed the book and once the credits started to roll, I felt as if something in my life went missing. I speak for everyone when I say that it’s impossible to walk away from this story without taking something away from it. Audrey Hepburn says that everything she has learned in life, she learned from movies. A quote from Groucho Marx stated that when he read a book, he brought something away from it. Even if he learned a new word or a lesson in life that he could live by, he at least remembered
October 12, 2010. 9:34:42 pm. The lights are dimmed. I am bathing in sweat. The amount of liquid that is slowly finding its way down my face is unbelievable. I hear a piercing scream, a thunderous boom, and suddenly an ear-splitting explosion that would terrify me for the rest of my life. The scream that I heard killed my soul. Attacking me piece by piece, the screech will never be forgotten. Rickkkkkyyyyyy! Boom. Boom. That was the moment I noticed that life is not always fair. The moment Ricky died.
Seconds later (17.02), a woman in a black Flying J shirt walked behind me addressing the associates, I was waiting to be assisted. Maxine walked over, grabbed a bag, opened the deli case door and asked, "What can I get for you today? To which I replied, "I'll have a beef & bean burrito, pause, it's cold outside today." "How many would you like?" "Just

I can hear my brother Parker coming up the stairs while I am doing my homework in my room. I watch the door handle hoping just once he won’t come in here and bug me. I thought to myself, brothers! Sometimes I wish I would have never asked for a little brother.
Sensing the fear in his tone, Tom returned fire. The leading cruisers took the brunt of his retaliation. The first ship's hull buckled and collapsed inwards before exploding in a fiery ball, its wreckage bouncing from The Hub's shields in a dazzling display and then spiralling into the void behind them.
How many people wonder about holes in the ceiling and cracks on the floor? When did they happen? What caused them? Or what about when you see a cigarette in someone’s hand and ask yourself how do they feel about smoking even though they know it’s dangerous. And even if people do think about these things, why? For what purpose? I guess I do it out of boredom. But is boredom really an excuse? I mean, really, how bored can a person get? I don't believe it is boredom after all, probably curiosity, which can build to all sorts of lengths, and I believe it most certainly starts there. How else can you explain why I want to know what happened to a certain somebody when a certain somebody else, punches them in the eye? I am almost positive it
