There have been many challenges that I have faced throughout my high school education. I had to work harder than most people to maintain my GPA and be ranked in my class with the rank I currently have. Most of my extracurriculars and sports take up a lot of my time where I do not get enough time to study, finish my homework, etcetera. I constantly have to work hard and make time for everything on my schedule despite how tired I am or how much I would like a break. Many of the extracurricular activities that I am involved in, I also hold leadership positions. This improves my leadership skills as I have to use them on a daily basis. I have had to face the challenge of competing with other people to receive the positions that I hold. However,
I was part of the Air Cadets, a program to help the youth with leadership and teamwork skills, I showed my leadership skills by raising money for my squadron. Air Cadets allowed me to take part in my own community. I am active in many sports such as; golf, tennis, table tennis, soccer. I also enjoy playing chess with my brother and father and I enjoy skiing and skating during the winter time. At school, I try to enjoy it instead of seeing it as a stressful job, I make sure that even if I have stress, I can deal with it calmly and effectively. I easily understand concepts and learn new things quickly which will benefit me if I miss a month of school for this program. I usually do my assignments beforehand so that I have time to add any final touches and have it edited by my peers and teachers. I show my leadership in many different ways. I take the initiative of helping teachers, my fellow students and my parents. I help
Chino Hills High School has an amazing leadership and ASB program. The students and staff promote positivity in every activity that they host for CHHS. On January 11th, the Chino Hills High School leadership and ASB did an amazing activity where they invited another leadership group called CASL (California Association of Student Leaders). Leadership and ASB connected with CASL to help motivate some middle school leadership students who are incoming freshmen. The CHHS leadership students had an opportunity to not only motivate the middle students to become better leaders, but to also allow them to participate in some fun activities. They did many activities such as, wrapping themselves in newspaper and trying to create the best out of something

Every since I was a young girl I have invested myself in my academics. I always loved coming home and showing my parents my report cards, because I wanted to show them the effort and diligence that I put forth into my academics. As I grew older that passion never faded, and instead of wanting to get that A to show my parents I found myself wanting to get that A to for myself. As a result, my academic achievements have become one of my most prized accomplishments in my life. Finishing off my final months of senior year I am carrying with me a grade point average of 3.97, and as a result of this I am number eight in my graduating class here at Summerfield. The reason my academics have become my most prized accomplishment is because it shows forth the qualities of effort and determination that I have put forth, and those are qualities that I believe a good leader must
The personal experiences I have had along the way have aided in shaping my character. For example, this year I had the privilege of being elected to the board of my school’s National French Honor Society. Our induction ceremony for new members was taking place and much preparation had to be done in a short amount of time. As a new board member, I took charge and made sure every detail of the ceremony was perfect. From decorations, food, audio and video, I did it all. My teacher and head of the honor society was very impressed by my leadership and “take charge” approach that she appointed me the new President of the French Honor Society for the 2015-2016 school years. That event allowed me to see my true potential as someone who works well with others as a leader, and my ability to work under pressure to achieve results. I have always strived to be the best I can be and excel at whatever task I set out to do. By having the opportunity to attend The United States Naval Academy, it would allow me to continue to challenge myself academically as well as strengthen my leadership and discipline. I would also be honored to serve my country as an officer, giving back to this great country that has been so good to me and my family for generations. All of my life I have been told that I am a very determined individual with a strong presence and desire to lead. It only seems right that I further develop myself
Within the last three years at Westside High School, I have not only pushed myself academically, but athletically as well. I do everything within my capability to keep my grades to a high standard while absorbing knowledge that will help better my future. Beginning in my ninth grade year, I decided I wanted to take leadership rolls within my school. I was a member of the varsity cheerleading squad, a member of Westside student council, and a member of the track and
Through my experiences, especially in basketball and my classwork, I have been able to be exposed to new things and apply my skills elsewhere in my life. In both sports and school, I have had to work with different people with different mindsets, but have come together as a cohesive team. Even if the team struggled, I still pushed through and did what was necessary for our success. Despite being discouraged at times by failure, I came right back and moved on to the next challenge. High School has helped me develop into a leader; I work towards a goal and help others that are in for the
Throughout my four years at the Bethel Park High School, I have represented myself as a strong leader. I never focused myself on just one aspect of leadership. To start, I have worked very hard to be considered as a captain of the cross country team, I currently hold the position of treasurer of the Journalism Club, and I am the head of a committee for the Principal Advisory Committee of Students. Being a leader in not something that I could learn from a textbook, it is a skill learned through my countless experiences. My current jobs that I hold give me great opportunities to prove my leadership skills. One of the most difficult is my referee job, which forces me to take the lead over coaches, players, and parents.
At this point in my life, about half way through my planned school career, I have learned that leadership and organization are key characteristics to possess in order to efficiently be involved in academics and extracurriculars. This aided me to not spread myself too thin but instead going above and beyond what people, including my parents, teachers, and even my peers, expected of me.
Being a leader comes easily to myself, I have held various leadership positions throughout high school and middle school. I was honored to lead and be captain for every team I was a part of. I was captain of my middle school soccer team when I was younger, and captain of my premier soccer team as well. I was also the first lone captain ever named to my high school soccer team, which I held with great pride and honor. I find myself very comfortable leading groups because of the amount of experience I have with being a leader.
Since childhood, I had a chance to develop my leadership and organizational skills through sports and had my school team win many competitions. My school is one of the places where my leadership qualities are valued as I often become a head of many activities, such as staging plays, organizing shows and school trips with my teachers. Being a leader gives me the opportunity to work in a team and consider my peers’ ideas to make our plans creative and enjoyable for everyone. My personal traits help me to gain trust and respect of my peers as they believe me to be a positive, open-minded and reliable person. I have learned to solve problems and conflicts thanks to this great experience of leadership, and I am always ready to assist my peers when it is
Taking my first footsteps into high school, I was unsure of my capabilities and self-identity, but the last 5 years have greatly shaped my self-image and ambitions. Being in a Pre-Ap Incentive Program since grade 8, I was encouraged to become an enthusiastic and curious student who always wants to take on new challenges and participate in extracurricular activities both inside and outside of school. In school, joining several clubs and volunteering in extracurricular activities greatly benefited me in discovering my character. Being a leader in multiple school events such as the fashion show and Remembrance Day assembly has taught me resilience and humility, allowing me to display my numerous traits in leadership and ability to work coherently
Since its development in 1994 the standards of Educational Leadership have pursued promoting an understanding on what is expected from the educational administration field.1 The goal of this paper is to present a personal appraisal of a connection between the ELCC standards and my own experiences in district leadership and a reflection on my professional practice of the standards. It is implicit that an educational leader should promote the success of every student by advocating and effectively implementing the 6 standards of Educational Leadership. 2
As a former employee as a cashier at Walmart, I had to meet strict expectations. It did not matter if I was sick or tired. I had to work 32 hours a week. I had to get hundreds of customers out the door and I had to scan at least 800 items per hour. Most importantly I had to do it all with I smile. I always did. I am a strong believer in hard work and putting other people's needs before your own. To sit and wait for the day to be over, for your bed to rest in, is no way to live. But to take every last ounce of your energy and put it towards another, that is something to take pride in. As a part of the Freshman Leadership program I would try my best to involve myself in order to be an affective contributor to the organization.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has” (Mead, 2014). Student Council is a small group of students at my school who try to make student life more fun and engaging. St. Mary is a Catholic high school in a small suburban setting. The school has a history of achieving high academic results. The school celebrations emphasize academic achievements. The focus over the last few years has been the implementation of Advanced Placement and Honours courses. Even students enrolled in academic classes such as English 30-1 feel less intelligent. There are a variety of option
