Have you ever wanted a change in the school for the better? Such as new lockers, better bathrooms, smoother parking lots? We want to physically change Floyd County High School (FCHS) for safety and unique reasons . First, lockers are a big part of the school. They hold everything your Floyd County High School students need. Secondly, the parking lot needs to be improved with all the bumps and many potholes. Third, Bathrooms are where a lot of students go for peace and quiet, or if they need to go. Students are embarrassed enough for going to the bathroom but then, to make it worse, the toilets don't flush.
"On a scale basis, most people actually hate locker searches and think that schools need to terminate them." Joseph, a friend of a student whose locker got searched said. His friend, Ryan had school locker searches in his school. They were allowed to have their phones out during lunch, but when the security pulled him away from his friends at lunch to have a locker search, they confiscated Ryan's iPod 4. He never saw it again. The security said that they kept it, but it "somehow" got lost. Students should not conduct random locker searches because they will lose their privacy, have misplaced focus, and the search could lead to legal issues. I mean, how many times have people found bad in lockers in the past 12 years?
Schools need to ensure that policies are in and that they are up to date and if they need amending
According to the National Education Association, at least 100,000 students bring guns to school, 160,000 students skip classes because they fear physical harm, 40 students are killed or hurt by firearms, nearly 6,250 teachers are threatened with bodily injury, and 260 teachers are physically assaulted. These facts are not based on once year, but as every single school day. Could one even imagine what the numbers might look like on scale for a month of school, let alone a whole year? So would starting with searching lockers really be a step to far to try and lower the numbers? Some may think yes due to the school invading the students’ privacy. The majority of people though will say no, doing searches of student’s lockers is not a bad
The school is responsible for designing and implementing strategies to reach the educational goals of students. The particular high school beliefs that all kids can learn and that the mission of this school is to challenge each student to learn, achieve, and fulfill his /her potential. Principals should lead each school in implementing the policies. In addition, this high school’s improvement plan of the three legal issues: unsupervised students, hallways, and field
In the same boat, let's talk about the good effects of remodeling Lovejoy High School. Expansion of a school to accommodate its large population is a good thing because now students have more space to freely walk without bumping into somebody or stepping over somebody. Cleaning and fixing bathrooms so that they are pleasant for students to go into, is a tremendous step forward because now students can enter a bathroom without passing out. Ordering new desk so that students won't fall out of their seats when they are sitting down, can reduce the amount of lawsuits from parents. Repairing air conditioning and lights is a tremendous factor to school improvement considering that some classrooms have lights that are too bright and possibly cause
I have been a student in the Thomas County School System ever since I started pre-school. During my time here, I have loved every minute of it, learning and having great experiences with friends and teachers here. Over the last four years of my high school experience, I have noticed that there have been more threats of bombings and shootings around the nation. Even though we do have a safe school and take precautions, there is still room for error. I am proposing that we make school a safer place for kids to learn by installing bulletproof glass as well as door-stoppers in each class.
Although there are many, loving and caring students all around the world. Many students in school could have firearms and drugs on school grounds at anytime around during school hours and after. There are also bad things about searching there lockers you could maybe go through their privacy and personal belongings.
The first changes I would at Metro High School make revloves around positive reinforcements to change the current school culture.* I would post the names of students on the wall of the main entrance for twenty days of good attendent. Then every three months of good attendent I would give those students a ceritification of proud student of
The issue that causes the most tension at Westside Consolidated School District No. 5 is the school shooting. Many families moved out of the school district as a result and the district has not recovered fully from the departure of those business leaders and students. The projected growth is another community issue that is causing tension. The state of the district buildings and amenities is not on the level of our former rival Valley View nor our current rival Brookland and the district has few options to build new buildings, retain teachers, and offer new class curriculums for the student
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) lockbox facilities allow the USCIS to receive forms quickly and process payments efficiently and securely.
In 2015, the Hermiston Police Department analyzed the safety of all the schools within the district. They found that the newer campuses like Armand Larive Middle School and West Park Elementary School, both built after the 2008 bond, had a decrease in safety incidences. Furthermore, they found that the two oldest schools, Rocky Heights Elementary at 53-years-old and Highland Hills Elementary at 35-years-old, failed to meet current safety standards. The biggest reason for this, as identified by Mike Kay, Executive Director of Operations within the Hermiston School District, is that they have a “California-style” design where classroom doors open to the outside, making it substantially harder for school administration to monitor who is coming into the school (“HSD Bond Video 2017 720”). For similar reasons, safety will only be decreased if the bond does not pass. Over the next four years, the district expects that they will need to acquire 46 more portable classrooms to the current 34 in order to support the expected student population growth. Portable classrooms, while cheap and easy to acquire, open to the outside. One-fifth of the student population will be required to leave the safety of the main building in order to reach their classrooms (Hermiston School District). When parents drop their kids off at school, they want to know that their children are safe. To conclude, the bond will
The Hurt Locker can give almost anybody the nerves with its numerous suspenseful moments. But what lies inside all the tension filled scenes is a much deeper meaning. Kathryn Bigelow stresses an important message in this Oscar-winning epic. Although the film depicts the gruesome horrors of war, Kathryn Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker is not an anti-war film. The Hurt Locker is a film about James’s addiction to war because it shows his desire tension risk filled scenes, his lack of resentment for the war, and his inability to integrate himself back into “normal society”
During my Peace Corps service I volunteered at a lower secondary school where I attempted to implement a project to build a sports court and incorporate a sports education curriculum. The school director was not in favor of this project because he wanted new bathrooms and hand washing stations. From my perspective I viewed the schools as having plenty of both of these but the director was adamant about additional bathrooms. Later I discovered that the director was in the process of converting the lower secondary school into an upper and lower school that would educate grades 7-12 rather than just 7-9. This would prevent students from commuting long distances to attend upper secondary school.

This is the most difficult step for schools, however, when working together, with urgency and a mindset to improve, total transformation will occur.
