Right now… our school, is a prison. And you, the students, are the prisoners. I’m Prempreet Brar, leader of the Window of Light. Vote for me, and I’ll make sure that I open up your window of opportunity. We will focus on finding a solution for the four main issues that make up our party platform. To improve the safety of our school and community, we will install surveillance cameras to reduce crime and mischief. This investment will save us a lot of money in the long run, as it prevents students from making bad actions. We will encourage safe transportation of our students both to and from school. We will do this by increasing the amount of advertisements around the school that inform students to go to school with a trusted acquaintance. …show more content…
Our objective is to bring back the sport of wrestling. The sport allows students to stay fit and potentially allow them to pursue a career in the sport. We will also allow our younger students to build their skills doing athletics while allowing our older students to build their leadership. We will do this by allowing younger students the opportunity to attend athletics practices. This gives younger students the chance to build their skills, and allows older students the opportunity to build their leadership. Our school does not have much spirit, so to improve our school spirit we will bring back our schools cafeteria with some healthy food choices. The healthy food choices will allow students the chance to be more healthy, and give those students who go to 7-Eleven in the winter the opportunity to stay inside the school and be warm. We will also bring back a school mascot to encourage spirit during athletics games. A school mascot encourages those students who are part of athletics teams, while also allowing students who wish to be the mascot the opportunity to do so. Our party will also allow beverages and snacks in the classroom. Beverages and snacks are for those students who need them to concentrate, such as students with gum, or those students who have payed for something and as a result don’t want to waste
“Our main goal is to create a space that brings together all kinds of students to help them raise awareness and celebrate differences in our inclusive school climate.”
It takes more than words and ideas to put lasting positive change in place, it takes action. Throughout the summer, I kept in contact with the school's administration, and before the first week of school was over, a back to school dance was scheduled. Even though scheduling, and setting up the dance required a lot of work, I was proud that I could do something that everyone in the school could enjoy. As of today the reforms I made to the student council are in full swing. The year is not half over a year, and there has already been twice as many events as in previous full years. Not only that, but things that were unthinkable in the past, such as free admission for most students, have been achieved. Now we come to the most important lesson I think I have ever learned. That real change is possible. Not only in a school setting, but in our homes, and our government. Togethar, through our combined efforts and abilities, we can come together and change our society for the better. The forces of stasis and ossification may seem eternal, but all it takes is one moment where everyone comes together for us to achieve postive and worthwhile
This will be my first quater at Drexel. From what I assume college finals will be a lot different from high school finals. In high school, I really would not do much to prepare finals. I would usually just study two days prior to the exam, because that would be all I needed. Typically I would make flash cards for all key terms and points and review those before the test. My study habits were not the best. However, having started college I believe that I have better learned how to study.
If Middle Football is Going to Last People Need to Get Their Head in the Game.
To start, everyone goes to Elementry school then to middle school but have to ever wonder how different they are. Elementry school is so fun with playgrounds and after school activities. But when you here about Middle school I was so excited to go. I found out that it is so exciting and different. Some differences and similarities between Middle School and Elementary School include the size of school, number of grades, and classes. These are some of the many things Middle School so enjoyable.
Junior High is a scary thought. You are little and going to school with the big kids. It wasn’t to bad after I got used to it.
When I think of the word academy, I think of bettering your education on a path that better prepares you for your specific career interests. At an academy that is exactly what I am looking for. My goals for attending an academy, is to take classes that challenge my interests and to come out of the experience, better prepared for the life, I specifically, want to live. I am not looking for your average high school experience. My hope is that the academy system will set me on a path filled with, yes, the average school requirements, but also classes and extracurricular activities that will better my learning in a field that I am actually interested in. When I come out of the academy , my goals are to come out a changed person, to be able to
My most vivid memory of intermediate school, was walking on the red carpet on the first day of fifth grade. At the time, I felt so grown up and mature. Come to realize, I was only ten years old. On the first day, I was so nervous to meet all of the new people that were coming from other elementary schools. Looking back, I shouldn't have been so nervous because I’m sure all of the other kids felt the same way. During those years, I met countless friends including Jayden, Makayla, Ali, Ally, Emily and so many others that I would still consider my friends.
This year in 8th grade, my fellow students and I were taught several skills in Geometry, Language Arts, Science, P.E, and History. Many of these skills I have learned in these classes can benefit me in my high school years. From these skills, the first skill I believe will help immensely in high school is time management. The second skill that I've found beneficial is the ability to think and act quickly. Finally, the third and most important skill is the ability to concentrate on assignments. These three skills will definitely help make high school be less difficult and much more comfortable.
My 8th-grade year was mediocre. I had some challenges in 8th grade. Not only, I had some pleasant times. My 8th-grade year wasn’t my best year, but it wasn’t the worst. I had some struggles with some teacher and friends. But, through all the drama it was an average year.
Towards the end of my sophomore year I went through some personal problems that caused my grades to drop. It was unexpected and I was devastated due to the fact that I set out to reach my goal of a higher GPA that year. The shock of my grades only worsened the situation and slowly I began giving up. I maintained average grades with the help of my teachers and I set a few goals for myself. My goals included, a GPA of 3.5 or above, at least a 20 on my ACT, and to overall try to better my mental state. With hard work, I was able to raise my grades and have above a 3.0 GPA by the end of my sophomore year. The start of junior year was my chance to accomplish my goals, but I was faced with even more challenges. Same as before, my grades began to
When the end of summer approached, I believed I was prepared of what 7th grade was going to throw at me. I was wrong. I had tons of homework. School overall was stressful. The best way to solve this problem was to not procrastinate, it was my main goal this school year. Reducing the amount of time playing on electronics would not only make my school life less stressful, but making my parents happier about me not playing as much as I usually do.
Mindy Lynch, principal at Ravenna Middle School, started allowing her community to see what was happening firsthand in her school. She began by capturing and sharing the daily happenings in her school. Community was able to see how hard her teachers work every day to make student
I am not so proud of the grades I received throughout high school. Receiving good grades has always been something I struggled with from middle school. I feel that I didn’t try to my full potential and I know I can do way better. The majority of the time, I’d turn in my work on time. Other times I wouldn’t, and that’s what would affect my grades. I did great freshman year, and fell off the end of my sophomore year. Senior year has taught me to push myself even harder than before, and this year I am eligible. Even though the grades I received throughout high school were not so great, I know that the motivation I carried through senior year will stick with me to not fall back down.
I want my school to be a place where everyone feels confident and safe when they enter the building. I have high expectations for all students, and I encourage my staff to challenge students academically. We need to prepare students with 21st- century skills and utilize the different tools in technology. We are a team, and family at
