Have you seen the presidential debates lately? Hillary and Donald have been strongly arguing over who should become the next United States president. The two candidates have pretty valid points and both want to work on certain topics. They will agree and disagree on different topics as well, but who is fit to be president? There are two significant topics that the two have spoken about, climate change and abortion, so who has more reasonable policies and opinions on these topics, Hillary or Donald? If I could vote, I would vote for Hillary Clinton because she has a lot of political experience and great changes to make. 68 year old Hillary Diane Clinton graduated from Yale University in 1973, then later served as the first lady of the U.S. from 1993 to 2001. From 2001 to 2009, Clinton served as a U.S. senator and is now rich as of being a presidential candidate with many, many votes. She’s had quite a bit of political experience. Donald John Trump is a billionaire who graduated from Fordham University in 1966, and Wharton school in the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. Trump starred in a hit reality TV show called The Apprentice, with not much political experience. Just knowing these facts, who do you think would be a better president? Climate Change …show more content…
Hillary thinks it is one of the top priorities, while Donald thinks it’s just “natural recurring weather” and it’s not a big deal and should be left the way it is. Hillary states, “Clearly, we need more incentives to quickly increase the use of wind and solar power; they will cut costs, increase our energy independence and our national security and reduce the consequences of global warming.” Clearly, Clinton is onto something, unlike her rival. Trump states, “This very expensive global warming ******** has got to stop. Our planet is freezing, record low temps, and our GW scientists are stuck in ice.” We can see who cares about climate change more,
As stated above both Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump think they are the best candidate for the presidency. They both have very different views on taxes, immigration and abortion. The views they have and decisions they make will affect this country, whether it is good or bad depends on your position. In the end the voters will determine who is the best candidate and the right choice for this
I decided that I am voting for Dr. Jill Stein because I believe she has the most compelling argument regarding climate change in the United States. I will not be voting for Donald Trump because his ideas are not plausible. I firmly believe climate change is an extreme threat that needs to be taken seriously. If we keep ignoring it and do not take the necessary actions needed, the environment is going to suffer. Trump has made claims before that this is a hoax, when there is clear scientific evidence saying that our planet is being abused. Is this really the man you want running our country? If he seems not to care about something this important, what else is he going to ignore?
The two canadities I picked are Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush. Hillary Cinton is a Democrat who is running for president. Some of her strengths are she has nearly one hundred percent name recogntition. She also has a built in base of support among working class women. Her strongest supporters are working class women. Other strong supporters are people who were big fans of Bill Clinton when he was in office. Some weakness she has iss trying to appeal to the coalition of blacks and young college educated white voters who supported obama. She also declared her presidency in 2007 but was defeated by Barrack Obama. She also needs to be able to represent the future and not the past. Also she’s a trained attorney; former secretary of State in the Obama administration; former senator from New York; and former
Ultimately, I believe Clinton should have gone to the whitehouse for various reasons. Clinton has been in office before and even the White House when Bill Clinton was president. Donald Trump has never been in office and is merely a businessman and has shown you can be elected president without political experience and if you just promise change, whether you follow through or not. This was shown in our class the mock election in a way as well. Although, many people believed the orange party candidate won the debate, the purple party candidate won by a landside, likely just because he offered change.
Do you know who you're voting for this presidential race? You should know who you're really voting for, and what they believe. Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, two big names in the race, have very different views on environmental issues, civil rights, and immigration. Make sure you know that you're making the right choice. Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump both have very different opinions on environmental issues.
Democrats and Republicans highly differ when comparing views on climate change. The Democrats accept human role in climate change while many Republicans question if climate change is even real. In the 2016 Democratic Party Platform (27), they state “in the first 100 days of the next administration, the president will convene a summit of the words best engineers, climate scientists, policy experts, activists, and indigenous communities to chart a course to solve the climate crisis.” This is highlighted previously when President Obama, a Democrat, traveled to Paris for a convention about climate change where he met other leaders around the world to make a plan to help fix the issues surrounding climate change. This shows the basic principles of the Democratic Party as internationalist and having the large government—as it states in the
Each year scientists cast a prediction on how much the sea levels will rise by the end of the century, but they keep changing to higher numbers because they keep finding that glaciers are melting at an unstoppable rate. Even though glaciers started to melt in the after the Ice Age, our nuclear factories and burning of fossil fuels have been feeding the heat to the Earth, creating our Earth to start changing its climate to higher temperatures. Democrats are trying to change this problem by trying to enforce laws of making more factories go green and power their plants by sawdust and water instead of burning fossil fuels. In my perspective, I believe neither party will fix global climate change because it will cost more to install solar panels and build new plants. The natural human instinct is to be cheap. America depends too much on Wall Street and unhealthy factories in China to produce products and make money. Face it, if someone offered you an organic donut for $5, and then someone else offered you an ordinary donut for $1, you’d pick the ordinary donut because it's cheaper even though it's bad for you. Let’s be real, fixing global climate change is like trying to fix a broken vase with a hot glue gun, it’ll never be the same because the damage is already
The Presidential election is one of the most heated topics in our media today. Although there are other candidates running for president, it seems Donald Trump, and Hillary Clinton are the two candidates talked about the most in the media. They are well known for their political arguments that are televised across the nation. Some say that neither of these candidates should win, and others would disagree. Does either candidate have what it takes to become the president of the United States of America? In my opinion, neither candidate should be elected as president. An explanation as to why neither candidate should be elected are the pro’s and con’s that both candidates have
This coming year will probably be the worst year the only way to tell if they are a good president is too see which ever one of them make a noticeable change to the us or even the world. They both are opposite with what they believe in, but both have a reputation good and bad which makes them similar to each other even though Hillary Clinton is much more fit to become president because of her experience. If I get to vote I know who I am voting for that will benefit me and my people, both of them can become great presidents as long as they become
The seeds of of Macbeth’s downfall are first planted near the beginning of the play when the witches tell Macbeth that he shall be Thane of Cawdor and King (I.3.48-50). Next to Macbeth, the witches seem to hold the most responsibility for the eventual assassination of King Duncan. Had the witches not told him he would be either Thane of Cawdor or King he would not have believed that he was to become king. However, once he becomes Thane of Cawdor, he trusts that the other prophecy must also be true. The witches could have told Macbeth any forthcoming truth and that he would be king, and Macbeth still probably would have committed regicide to obtain the title of King. This is because he became confident that the witches were honest once one truth
Issues like renewable energy, hydraulic fracking, anthropogenic greenhouse gases, and the Paris Agreement should have been hot topics during the three presidential debates. So why were they not? Both the Democrats and Republicans seemed to be more concerned with trying to make the opposing candidate look as bad as possible. However, climate change is not something that should be labeled as a Democratic or Republican problem, instead all political groups should be worried about this topic. Climate change can affect food production, water availability, wildlife and human health. Also, weather conditions such as storms, tornadoes, and earthquakes can damage roads, railroads,
November 2016 the people of the United States will vote for the next Commander in Chief and I am one of those proud Americans to vote for Hillary Clinton. Hillary was born on October 26, 1947 and throughout her life she has always been involved in politics. She was the First Lady of Arkansas and the First Lady of the United States. From 2001 to 2009 she was the United States Senator of New York and after President Obama was elected into office, she became the 67th United States Secretary of State. Her list of accomplishments during these terms are well known. Her grace and dignity under the most extraordinary circumstances will bring pride to our nation. Hillary has not always made the best decisions, but she admits to her many mistakes she has made in this process. This shows that it takes experience to get things accomplished in Washington. Hillary Clinton should be the next president of the United States because she stands for equal opportunities for everyone.
Charles Darwin was heavily influenced by the research of his colleagues before publishing his book in 1859. In this paper I will summarize the research of both Charles Lyell and Thomas Malthus, then discuss their contribution to the development of Charles Darwin’s ideas about evolution by natural selection. Charles Lyell’s research focused on the geological processes that shaped Earth’s surface. A popular theoretical model used to explain these processes at the time was a historical model, which explained Earth’s geological features – from volcanoes to valleys – as a product of biblical history through supernatural events and catastrophes (Rudwick, 1998). Lyell entertained this idea, but surely began to shift and formulate his own concept
Slavery was a sad event that African Americans had to go through in America starting in the sixteen hundredths. Slavery was bad because African Americans were kidnapped from Africa by Slave Traders and put on slave ships that enslaved African Americans. The Atlantic Slave Trade is the transportation by slave traders of enslaved African people. Mainly from Africa to America and then Africans were sold into slavery. Innocent African Americans were captured and beaten almost to death in captivity by the slave traders. Can you imagine the pain and horror African Americans went through while enslave? Slavery is a negative event that should not be honored or relished! Innocent African Americans were taken away from their families. Can you imagine being taken away from your family for no good reason? Slavery had three negative effects during that time on African Americans. These effects of Slavery were Loss of Freedom, Illiteracy, Abuse.
Some believe global warming isn't a man made problem, but just a cycle of ‘weather patterns’. For example, our now president -Donald J. Trump- doesn't consider climate change to a threat to the inhabitants of earth. Our president also said that global warming is a ‘hoax’.
