Chiropractic practices have been a source of controversy in the medical profession for many years. The history and practice of chiropractic healthcare dates back to 1895. There are many benefits to chiropractic medicine. It is a safe alternative compared to taking pain medicines and narcotics which can become addicting. It has become a more widely accepted treatment in many countries. Chiropractic healthcare is beneficial for a person’s overall health and can improve their quality of life. Palmer believed that chiropractic healthcare was a way to heal the body without the aid of drugs, making it a safe alternative to traditional medicine. There has been a feud going on over the decades between medical doctors and chiropractors. Medical doctors would say that these unscientific practices were unethical and would refuse to associate themselves with chiropractors. A chiropractor’s education normally involves an undergraduate degree plus four years of Chiropractic College. They will then be a licensed chiropractor in which they will get their licenses from one of the Palmer schools in the United States. The initials DC, doctor of chiropractic, identify a chiropractor. Before graduating from chiropractic school, a student will intern in an established practice in order to gain experience and learn from a doctor who has already gotten his degree. The license that you receive is accepted by all 50 states and over 30 countries worldwide. Ever since there was the practice of chiropractic medicine, there has always been controversy over it. It is said that it is not meant for everyone and they do often do medical background checks to make sure that they do not hurt you rather than help you. Often times there are some degrees of discomfort after going to a chiropractor but this is typically resolved after a day or two.
