Thanks to men like Christopher Columbus the world became an explorer's oyster. The findings of new created much curiosity in Europe to explore and conquer new lands in order to expand their empire. In the early 1600’s a surge of motivation to explore and settle new colonies came over England. The Result of this was the New England and Chesapeake colonies, who were both settled by immigrants from England. Many people decided they needed to escape England due to religious persecution and poverty. Hundreds of families, men, women, and their children, came in search of a New World where they could have a new start. Despite the striking similarities between the two colonies they grew

European settlers first came to the New World for multiple reasons. It started with Christopher Columbus wanting to find a shorter and quicker route to the East. Failing to do so, he made the New World’s existence known to the Old World. It wasn’t just the Europeans who decided to come to the New World. The Spanish government was informed of the New World

Between 1492 and around 1735, Europe colonized in the Americas in order to gain more land. However, it was not due to excessive population in Europe, but rather mercantilism. In mercantilism, countries try to gain as much wealth as possible by increasing export and decreasing import. Europeans established the American colonies for their resources and not for the expansion of the countries. In North America, England colonized the eastern coast for its lumber, iron ore, and cash crops. The colonies were split into three sections, New England, the Middle Colonies, and Southern Colonies. Each had its own economy. In each of the colonies, the resources were gathered and turned into other products. However, there were not enough settlers willing to do this so the landowners used slavery to harvest and refine goods.

In the New World from 1492 to 1700, Christopher Columbus, a Spanish explorer, discovered the New World and began bringing Spain more wealth. Bullion and indigenous people were being brought to Europe. More expeditions continued to the New World and eventually settlement began to establish. The New England, the Middle Colonies, and the Chesapeake areas became the major colonies in the New World. In 1619, slaves were shipped across the world to farm and mine the colonies to bring wealth to England. Conflict across the colonies occurred making the development of the colonies difficult. It is within this context that the Spain and England are trying to establish the New World and wealth but in different ways. There are three significant differences between the Spanish and New England colonies. Spain and England had their own perceptions of the role of religion, economic base, and treatment of indigenous people.

Cube, Jamaica, Hispaniola, and Puerto Rico are also in the apart of the Caribbean islands. Haiti is west of the Dominican Republic. Jamaica is West of Haiti. Cuba is Northwest of Haiti. The offshore Islands of Tortuga and Gonave belong to Haiti.

For centuries, the English and European colonizers wanted a piece of the new world. Many of these colonists were very curious of what was at this new world and wanted to create opportunities for themselves by extracting resources through the labor of the indigenous people and imported slaves.

Columbus came across a wealth of things that would help them for life. They had a vast area of land to do whatever they wanted to do with it. They could use the water, oil, lumber, coal, and so many other things. They were faced with a new group of people, people they didn't know what to do with. These people could be used as slaves for their personal use, being they came in and took over the land, and with the land come the people. When Columbus found this New World, he brought a world of wealth back to the Spanish, later to be shared with all of Europe.

After Columbus discovery of New World in 1492 and discover of gold and silver in the 1500s by Cortez and Pizarro, many Europeans countries began to build an empire or settlement in the New World. Since the Spanish has the most powerful and advanced sea power, they are the first one to do so . England was the only country that can compete with the Spanish on sea power. When England see the Spanish start to built empire in the New World and gained a lot wealth from the Indians, they began to colonize the New World land too. After the Spanish and English entered the New World land, they destroyed Indians religion and community; however, the relationships the Spanish had with the Indians is slightly different from the English.

Puerto Rico is smallest and Eastern of the Greater Antilles. The north of Venezuela has left approximately to 500 miles, 80 miles to the east of the Spanish, and to 1.200 miles to the Southeastern of the city of Miami, in the North American state of Florida. The U.S.A.

The European conquest for establishing North American colonies began with various motivations, each dependent on different, and/or merging necessities: economics, the desire to flee negative societal aspects, and the search for religious freedoms. Originally discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492 in search for a trade route to Cathay (China), North America remained uninhabited, excluding the Native American establishments.
