How Does Conflict Affect The Character

The article, “Teens Who Fought Hitler”, by Lauren Tarshis is about how a boy named Ben fought against Adolf Hitler, who wanted all of Germany’s 9.5 million Jews dead. Ben’s family was forced into a ghetto, Ben broke out and joined the partisans in hope to save his family. He fought against the Nazis but unfortunately his family was killed, so Ben went on and fought by sabotaging the Nazis supplies. Ben went through many challenges and fought with courage.

Adolf Hitler often proclaimed, “Whoever has the youth has the future.” This future would entail the most destructive war in history and the systematic murder of millions of people. This research will study how the Hitler Youth, a youth organization affiliated with the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (Nazi Party), affected the German population, particularly its members, from 1922 to 1945. Specifically, this research will examine how formal and informal Hitler Youth training influenced its experiencers’ decisions to acquiesce to and perpetrate the Holocaust. This research about the Hitler Youth’s effects on people’s behavior during the Holocaust will analyze the role of Nazism versus preexisting societal trends in cultivating genocidal mindset.

Conflicts can be found all over. Every so often it can be acceptable, such as the exhilaration and the expectations faced in the competition. On the other hand, it can be rather unfavorable between people. Conflicts aren’t just found in real life, but can also be found inside of fiction. Conflicts in fiction are used to move the plot forward, cause characters to adapt, and eventually develop the theme.

Action. Fun. Adventure. These were the things promised to children as young as ten, who were lured by Hitler Youth and BDM organizations. By training the children rigorously and implementing Nazi Germany’s core beliefs in them, Hitler formed future Nazi citizens that would be willing to sacrifice their lives for him and the Third Reich. In 1920, Hitler approved the founding of Hitler Youth which modeled a previous youth group who distinguished themselves through clothing and such, wanting to reconnect Germans with the land ( Lisciotto). The brainwashing of Germany’s children through the use of Hitler Youth programs was unethical: it was created to mold children into perfect Nazi citizens, implementing a deep sense of racial superiority taught by teachers: infusing deep hatred for anything the Nazis considered a threat to Germany, and due to Hitler Youth teachings of reporting adults who were not law-abiding citizens, it led to children reporting their parents out of duty to the Third Reich.

Through the Hitler Youth, Hitler was successfully able to corrupt the minds of children and spread propaganda across the country. Hitler Youth played an important role in the spread of Nazisim across Germany. Hitler Youth also proved Germany with a common goal: The Aryan Race. The Hitler Youth also added to the Nazi school system and made the kids more devoted. The Hitler Youth had a big impact on the people of Germany and its future.

Conflict is like the juice of a fiction story, without it there is really nothing for the readers to look forward and the plot is not as strong or enticing for the readers. Conflict furthers the action of the plot and can as well help the readers to get a better understanding of the characters.
