Football is one of America’s favorite sports. It originated from soccer and rugby. This kind of sport is very competitive. The main point of the game is to score points by carrying the ball from a starting point to a 100-yard long by 53-yard wide field into a marked zone. Each team has a Y-shaped structured called the field goal the players. The game is divided into timing sections ranging from 12 to 15 minutes quarters. Often times, the players become violent during the game. This happens when they have to tackle each other for the ball. During this tackling period, players injured, but like anything in life it possesses risks known to the athletes before signing a contract with the NFL’s (National Football League) owner.

The NFL has become the most popular sport in the United States. It is watched my millions every weekend. The NFL is only growing in popularity. With new fans joining the fun every day. The NFL has faced its share of problems too. With concussions scaring away many future players, the NFL is hoping to lower the possibility of concussions in the future. Each NFL team plays a total of 16 games over a span of 17 weeks. There are two conferences in the NFL, the AFC and the NFC. There are four divisions in each conference, each with 4 teams. The playoff teams are decided by the division rankings. The winner of each division makes the playoffs, with the two best 2nd place teams making it in as a wild card.

Everyone enjoys being healthy, and playing sports is one way to achieve being healthy. Most people enjoy watching or playing sports. Parents usually enroll their children to play sports at a young age. Lacrosse and soccer are two great sports to stay healthy, search for great opportunity; however, both cost money to play competitively. Soccer is better in all three of these regards. Soccer has more opportunity and is less expensive. Lacrosse and soccer players are equally healthy, built differently in regard to the respective sport, but healthy nonetheless.

Hockey is a sport thats origins may be from Persia, Egypt or China, while archaeological evidence shows an early ball-and-stick game played in Greece in the 400s BCE. As civilization spread, so did the games. In 1872, a young man from Halifax, Nova Scotia named James Creighton moved to Montreal, bringing the sport of ice hockey with him bringing with him hockey sticks and skates. In this particular paper, I will be discussing the differences and similarities between two sports. The two sports of my choice are baseball and football. The biggest difference between ice hockey and lacrosse is the playing field. In hockey its ice, in lacrosse its grass. In addition to this would be the field dimensions. A lacrosse field is rectangular, while a hockey rink is oval. Another difference would be the number of players present on the field at one time. In lacrosse, 10 players are allowed at one time to work together at scoring a goal. In hockey, only 6 players are allowed to grace the field during each shift. Which brings the topic to another distinction, the length of shifts. In hockey the shifts are only about two to three minutes long, allowing fresh players to take the ice more often than in lacrosse, where the shifts are about every 10 to 12 minutes. Another major difference is that usually hockey is played during the winter months, lacrosse in the springtime. I use the word "usually" because there are ice rinks that will operate and host leagues during the summer, but its is rare due to the expense of cooling the ice during the hot summer days.
