As citizens of the United States, we have certain unalienable rights that were set by the framers of our country back when our nation’s government was just forming. Among these is the First Amendment to the Constitution that includes the freedom of religion for all who reside in and call this country their own. The First Amendment is meant to give rights to the people that the government cannot limit or take away. These rights serve to protect and help us in times of need, and the freedom of religion that the United States provides has given security to members of all religious backgrounds coming from other countries where this freedom is not among the rights given to their people. People all over the world have sought refuge in

The role of mother during 1970’s was to take care of the family, not by money, but emotional and physical help. Whether that be taking care of the family when they were sick or maintain the house by cleaning. It was also a time in which women's voices and opinions were drowned out by their demanding husband for another beer. Edith Bunker from All in the Family followed these roles and stereotypes to a “T”.
The Polka-dot dress was inspired by a dance costume that I have worn. I wanted to incorporate the black-and-white theme with the fun patterns of the 60s as well as a halter top to add personality.
Women wore underdresses made of linen or flax and woollen overdresses like aprons with straps fastened by decorative brooches. Over the dresses and aprons she wore cloaks or shawls made of wool. Their shoes were made of leather. They had long hair and usually wore scarves.
“ Spirit, hear me. I am not he man I was. I will not be the man I have been for so many years. Why show me all of this if I am past all hope? Assure me that I yet may change these shadows you have shown me. Let the boy live! I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year. I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The spirits of all three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach.” (Scrooge, p.140). A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is an important story as it has a meaningful theme of change, as the quotes states above. But that isn’t the only theme that this beautiful story shows us. Many different spirits encounter him to help him realize why Christmas is important (I’m pretty sure that is the meaning of the spirits). When the first spirit of the past encounters him, he realizes what he has done, and regrets some of the things he did. The second spirit helped Ebenezer Scrooge recognize how what he has been doing has had an impact in other peoples life. When the frightening third spirit came and showed him his future and others futures, he discovers about himself and how people didn’t care that he died. When we read A Christmas Carol, we learn that it can have many different themes that can be a very important component to the story and even our lives.

It is curious that as children, humans have the ability to observe and remember details of specific situations and instances yet lack the ability to describe them. Truman Capote, as a grown man, took advantage of his vivid memories and composed the short work, "A Christmas Memory." The story begins in late November, a month symbolic of all the years gone by that Capote could remember beginning preparations for Christmas fruitcakes.
The piece’s designer is Hermes, and it was made in Paris, France. (Image B) It is longer than it is wide. It is light enough to pick up easily and carry. It is three-dimensional when held up, and flat when laid down. The piece is composed of wool that is thick on the outside and has a blue and black boxy pattern. It also has a thin layer of either silk, or satin, lining the inside with the Hermes logo and name stitched in. Along the back is a longer length of separated material that gives the illusion of a cape. It is a suit to fit the body of a woman and gives one a sense of empowerment, a savoir-faire, and makes a bold statement about individualism against conformity, through its rich
Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year. I love seeing the shinny Christmas lights that decorates my street and the sound of fresh fallen snow on the ground. Christmas reminds me of family, the laughter and loved we shared, and the gifts we gave to each other. My house on Christmas became the center of my joy.
In this paper I will discuss the Res Gestae, Augustus’ funerary inscription. It was written by Augustus himself in an effort to parade his greatest accomplishments. It’s believed to have been written in 14 AD just before Augustus’ death. The original copy was inscribed in bronze and displayed at the entrance of Augustus’ mausoleum, unfortunately this copy no longer exists. Luckily, there were many copies dispersed across the empire, otherwise this document would have been lost in
I think Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays. Maybe because of the special atmosphere that you can feel everywhere, in shops, restaurants , pubs and even streets, where you can hear the magical carols, or maybe it's because of its religious background, but what I can tell you for sure is that I can't think of anything more exciting than the image of the entire family preparing the Christmas Tree or fixing the Christmas dishes.
