Defendants, Mark and William Schenkly, have not satisfied the elements required to invoke the shopkeeper’s privilege defense. Conduct by the suspect which lead a shopkeeper to believe that the suspect is attempting to steal is enough to establish reasonable cause. In assessing reasonable cause to detain, Arizona courts consider whether appearances are sufficient to justify a shopkeeper’s belief is reasonable. Kon v. Skaggs Drug Center, Inc., 563 P.2d 920, 922 (1977); Gau v. Smitty’s Super Valu, Inc., 901 P.2d 455, 459 (1995). Defendant Mark Schenkly did not see Mr. Flynn take beer from the cooler, nor did he observe that the beer was missing from the cooler. The statute setting forth the requirements for asserting the shopkeeper’s privilege provides that detainment may only take place for the sole purposes of questioning or
On 07/11/2016 at approximately 1149 hours, I, Security Officer James A-10280, was notified by a guest of a African American male selling a iPod on the Tulalip Casino Gaming floor. I made contact with a guest now known to me as Wade Maurice DOB: 08/24/83, who stated that he was trying to sell the IPod. I explained to Mr. Wade that selling any items in the casino is not aloud, and he would have to leave all Tulalip Gaming establishments for no less then 24 hours. Security Shift Supervisor Randy Stewart was notified.

The film industry operates in a continuous cycle, searching for the newest and best pieces to make their movies creative, interesting, and marketable. Historically, the film industry attempts to follow a set structure in an attempt towards success in such a volatile market, however, this approach creates a system much like that of Ford’s Model-T production line, invented in the 1910s, which involved each worker on the line doing a single job. Only a few years later, during the 1920s and 1940s, the film industry showed that they adopted a similar approach to their industry, with each person—actor, director, producer, writer, etc.—performing a distinct role. In the late 1920s, as Hollywood transitioned from silent films to “talkies”, actors and actresses were met with the challenge of adapting to a new role and many of them no longer fit the role required by the growing Hollywood machine. The film Sunset Boulevard (Billy Wilder, 1950) explores and critiques the landscape of the hierarchy and harsh realities of Hollywood. In the same vein as many films of the film noir style, the mood of pessimism and fatalism reflected in the form parallels the reality of many people in Hollywood during the 1900s.
Mr. Soto continued to advise he initially had an affair with Jerie’s wife a year ago, Christina Angomas. Mr. Soto and Jerie did have a prior incident where both parties got into a physical altercation, however, Mr. Soto did not report it because he thought the issue was resolved. Mr. Soto advised he was able to find Jeri’s full name and the other Hispanic male via Facebook and was able to provide it to me. The name for the other Hispanic male was Jobeth Jesus Nieves Salgado. Mr. Soto stated Jeri may possibly still reside in the Cascades Blvd apartments and could not provide an apartment number. Mr. Soto advised he was unsure of Jerie and Jobeth were brothers or cousins however they are somehow related. I was able to locate both Jeri and Jobeth in Spillman and I observed both names to be consistent with the information Mr. Soto provided to me. Mr. Soto was also able to provide the tag for the vehicle, FL tag Y83UBP, and upon conducting an FCIC/NCIC check it revealed it was registered to a Jerie Nieves Salgado. It also revealed it was a white 1992 Toyota and Jerie’s address was 2102 Cascades Blvd; Unit 207
The Revolutionary war, sparked by the colonist's anger towards taxation without representation, was a conflict between the United States and its mother country Great Britain. This event had been considered the most significant event in the American history. It separated the thirteen colonies from the tyrannical ruling of King George. The revolutionary war was not a big war, "The military conflict was, by the standards of later wars, a relatively modest one. Battle deaths on the American side totaled fewer than 5,000"1. However, the war proved that the thirteen colonies were capable of defeating the powerful Great Britain. Over the years there were many Hollywood films made based on the revolutionary
Sunset Boulevard directed by Billy Wilder in 1950 is based on how Norma Desmond, a huge Hollywood star, deals with her fall from fame. The film explores the fantasy world in which Norma is living in and the complex relationship between her and small time writer Joe Gillis, which leads to his death. Sunset Boulevard is seen as lifting the ‘face’ of the Hollywood Studio System to reveal the truth behind the organisation. During the time the film was released in the 1950s and 60s, audiences started to see the demise of Hollywood as cinema going began to decline and the fierce competition of television almost proved too much for the well established system. Throughout this essay I will discuss how Sunset Boulevard represents the Hollywood
In March 1998 the next event occurred when six pounds of cocaine evidence was missing from the Los Angeles Police Department. The LAPD chief officer, Bernard Parks, started to question the missing evidence and focused his investigation in CRASH officer Rafael Perez. Later in the investigation it became cleat that another pound of cocaine went missing from the evidence room right after an arrest was made by office Frank Lyga, the officer who shot Kevin Gains. It was believed that officer Perez soled the cocaine in retaliation to the death of Gaines that was caused by Lyga. Later is was confirmed that other incidents occurred where Perez switched the cocaine evidence with Bisquick, a pancake mix. Perez was later charged but made a deal with the prosecutors where he pled guilty to the cocaine theft but provided information about other CRASH officers who have also been involved in illegal activities. Perez provided information about 70 officers who were involved in some kind of
The "star system" was a method of developing and advancing the popularity of Hollywood movie stars. The system, which began during the height of the Hollywood studio system era, emphasized the image of the actor instead on the actual acting. The movie studio's profits were driven by the popularity of the stars that appeared in their films. According to Rocco, the stars had long term contracts with the movie studios that paid them a weekly salary, and the stars were identified with specific types of characters that would often be repeated in many movies. Belton stated that "the star provides the studio with a tangible attraction, an image that can be advertized and marketed, offsetting the less tangible qualities of the story, directing,

Glory is a movie about the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, one of the first official all black units in the United States during the Civil War. It’s an inspirational story of how a young Union soldier, Robert Gould Shaw, is offered the chance to lead an army unit that will change not only his life, but the lives of many other Americans.
My first tip or recommendation to a successful appearance in the law enforcement field is having a clean and fresh pressed uniform with a light starch and a complimenting bright white undershirt. In order to make this easier on you as an officer rotate uniforms regularly and keep a schedule for having uniforms dry cleaned. A four uniform rotation should be substantial for a seven day work week. Also, as your uniforms become worn out or old replace them as needed. Fabrics also tend to fade at different rates and severity. The point to take away here is to
Even though a vast majority of us wish that it was possible to turn back the hands of time and change or rewrite history. However, the truth of the matter is that we simply cannot. Everything happens for a reason, and we should learn to accept it. Accept it for what it is, rather than what we would like it to be.
