During my time of using the Home Inspection Checklist, I have found that there are quite a few things that are child friendly, but yet things that need to be replace or made child friendly. I also need to buy some additional materials and somehow make more space to have my own at home child care. In my home, I have a few areas that are ready. The first item on my list that I know is ready is any electrical items. All electrical items are controlled by a circuit breaker to make sure it is safe. In my home, we use power strips to plug in multiple items. The children would not be able to get to the power strips because they are pushed back behind items, which makes them out of their reach. I also know that the pets in my home are healthy. I have two cats …show more content…
The biggest change I need to make is the amount of space I have available. I would need to get a bigger place. Right now, I have a small two bedroom apartment. Another thing that is not ready is the type of floors I have in my house. They are currently carpeted floors. I would change them to hard wood floors. If we had hardwood floors, then any messes that are made would be much easier to clean than it would be on carpeted floors. Another change I would have to make is to have a first aid kit. All I have that would go in the kit is band aids and Neosporin. Some items I would have to get for the kit are gloves, scissors, gauze, elastic bandage, and tape. Something else that isn’t ready would be our electronics. I would change this by putting the DVD player and gaming systems in a locked cabinet for the children’s safety. Also, for any unused electrical outlets, I would need to purchase some outlet protectors. This would be for the children’s safety, as well, so they couldn’t stick anything in the outlets and possibly get electrocuted. As I stated before, there are many things that I would need to fix or
In a nursery there are many hazards so staffs need to be extra careful on what they leave hanging around especially when dealing with younger children. Also there are round the clock service is provided.
Risk assessments should be carried out to make sure that there are no safeguarding treats to the children in a setting.
Childminders must ensure the premises and equipment used for the purposes of childcare are safe and suitable and must undertake a risk assessment of the premises and equipment at least once in each calendar year. Childminders must ensure that all necessary measures are taken to minimise any identified risks.
If pets are present then children’s play areas must be free of pet food and waste
In order to ensure a safe and healthy environment and services for children/young people there are some factors which need to be taken into account. These include any equipment which they will be in contact with, such as electrical equipment, anything which may pose a fire risk, any damaged furniture or fixtures which they may come into contact with. If there are any cables or anything they may trip over as well as any spillages or anything they may slip on and fall. All if these issues need to be taken into account
When planning healthy and safe indoor and outdoor environments or activities with children and young people you must take into consideration these principles:
In accordance with Rules _____________________________ of the Wisconsin Rules of Civil Procedures, Plaintiff requires that you answer the following Interrogatories in writing and under oath.
Fires, heaters, electric sockets, wires and leads are properly guarded and the children are taught not to touch them.
Early years require sponge flooring in the play area outside to prevent injury that you would receive from concrete areas. The equipment that the teacher uses needs to be safe. For example, when reaching up high in the classroom to do a display an elephant’s foot or stepladder should be used as opposed to standing on a chair or table. When using equipment for physical activity (PE) safety mats for climbing frames, the beam, etc. must be in place.
As a childminder I have a duty of care to keep all my minded children safe, healthy and comfortable while making sure their rights are guarded. I have a duty of care to keep children from harm whether physical or psychological. I carry out risk assessments in my home and when out and about to avoid potential hazards to children. Risk assessments are reviewed every year or when accidents/incidents happen and there is a need for review. The house is equipped with safety equipment to minimise risk of injury or harm. Stair gates, plug sockets and cupboard
Here are some of the National, local guidelines and policies and procedures for safeguarding that affect day-to-day work with in our nursery. In the following ways:
To provide a developmentally appropriate learning environment that is safe, healthy, respectful and supportive of children and families. For the learning environment to be safe, I ensure that I always check identification, and have parents notify me whenever someone new to the list will be picking up. I always bring my roster with me to ensure I have all my children with me. I do a roll call every time we get to a new area after traveling anywhere away from our room, and before leaving the room. Another way that I make the learning environment safe is by covering all the outlets in the room, and making sure sharp or dangerous objects are put away, and out of the children’s reach. I put cleaning supplies and other chemicals in high locked cabinets.
If you are buying a new home directly from a builder or one that was built fairly recently then things like the roof and foundations will be covered by a separate warranty. In an older home these will be covered by your homeowners insurance. This is where the home warranty is needed to cover the following systems which might not be covered by a home
Have you ever been at an outdoor sporting event when it was cancelled or postponed due to lightning strikes? If so, thank the person who made that determination. Nowhere outside is safe when thunderstorms are in the area. Remember you should stay inside a safe building or vehicle for at least 30 minutes after you hear the last clap of thunder. You might ask what is considered a safe building or a car. A building that has wiring and plumbing provides the best protection. If a building is not available, a hard topped car with its windows rolled up is the next best safety area.
Buying your first time home can be one of the most stressful and exhilarating moments of your life. First and foremost, property in Australia can be expensive. Secondly, there are many cost heads involved and if you lack the right information, it can be hard to know where to start. For instance, you have to pay a local tax on top of the tax on purchase price also referred to as stamp duty. But with the Australian government showing some commitment to improving housing affordability across all its states, owning a house is now easy. This is by offering First Home Buyers Grant available to first home buyers and stamp-duty exemptions/concessions. However, the rules and regulations that apply to this vary from state to state. Thus it is
