I helped assist the group on deciding the vignettes that were going to be used in our question which ended up to be “My Name”, “Hips”, and “A Smart Cookie”. I also stayed after school with Emma in order to get our question approved. We ended up with a question that focused on the principles of Esperanza and how those principles reveal the gender roles in her community. Emma and I also came up with concepts and drafts for the group’s art pieces. We ended up deciding what symbols and references from the vignettes we were going to use in the three pictures. I also helped Rosario with the response for the question suggesting using different ideas and trying not use values instead of principles. I suggested using the reference to “Madame Butterfly”
As an honorary baker and renowned food critic, nothing grinds my gears more than looking out my bakery’s window and seeing a group of kids walk out of a gas station or Walmart with a pack of Chips Ahoy. Don’t they know real cookies don’t come off conveyer belts? My cookies are straight out of the oven with an ingredient no factory can imitate – a touch of motherly love. Those Chips Ahoy cookies aren’t even made of real dough. My homemade cookies have no artificial ingredients like the High Fructose Corn Syrup being packed into the Chips Ahoy imposters.
Carefully knead the scraps together, chill about for 5 minutes, roll out, and cut more cookies.
