A typical day at the Angevine IHAD program consists of the students starting in their homeroom. In their homerooms, they write down what they have to do for the day and Kate checks off their plan. There were seven students in Kate’s homeroom today. After planner checks, we head to flex time, which is after-school recess. The seven students, Kate, and I returned to the homeroom after flex time to begin academic time.
Today, the students all took their seats. Taylor* and Eric* sat near each other in the front of the room and were giggling,
Kate went over to the students and said, “Please get out your work.”
Taylor laughed and said, “But Miss, I do not have my work.”
Kate responded, “Where can you get your work?”
Taylor smiled and said, “In my

Looking down at the packet, James answered, “Finding the x and y intercepts.” I said, “That’s what I was thinking.”
He smiled and flipped his math review packet over a couple of times. The packet was 5 pages long. James had crossed out problems that he was not required to do. While James was looking through his math review packet, Taylor and Jesse* were also working on the same math review packet at a different table. Kate went over to them and asked them to be quieter. Jesse asked Kate if she and Taylor could go into the therapy room to work on the review packet so that they could talk to each other. Kate agreed. Mike was still sitting near James. He was quiet and appeared to be working on a Google Slides presentation on a black Chromebook. Eric was sitting in the front of the room, working on a white Chromebook. Mia* was working on a science comic. Earlier in the day, she said it was on Newton’s Law, “f=m x a”. Michelle* was watching math videos on a white Chromebook. After about 2 minutes of flipping through his math review packet, James picked out another question and said to me, “I don’t know how to do this one,
Skylar Evans walked down the corridor to her next class, math. She's always loved math; she loves the fact that math is an everyday priority, so She need to learn as much as she can as soon as possible. As she sat in her chair in a middle row, her so-called-boyfriend, Chris, entered the room. Considering he's a senior, he shouldn't be in there. When he spotted her, a smirk shadowed his lips. He casually walked over to her, taking an empty chair next to her.
The girls would ride their scooters to school every day. Their lockers were right by each other, and Katie’s was right by Blondie’s locker. First hour, Allie and Caitlin had literacy in Kamble’s class, and Katie had literacy in Thach. The day went on and Allie and Caitlin would go to lunch together and Kt went to advisory. 5th, 6th when by and then came 7th, when Allie and Kt when to Art, making monsters. Lastly comes 8th when Allie and Katie go to Kellems and Caitlin goes to gym or band. The day ends and they all ride home.
In about 5 minutes, I noticed something really odd. Caleb, who is typically quiet, was yelling, laughing loudly, and boasting about how perfect his hair was. Karla just sat there, dead silent, only smiling and nodding when someone said something funny. Michael was suddenly talking about how he absolutely cannot wait to go hunting and show his love for “’Merica”. Bill was suddenly belting out words to Lady Gaga songs that I didn’t even know he knew. Abby was complaining about anything and everything under the sun, and Lainey’s IQ seemed to have raised 15 points.
I took a seat in the corner of the classroom closets to the door. From here, I could see most of the people occupying the room but my main focus was on a round table directly in front of me where two young ladies
When I arrived, Athena was finishing her morning snack/breakfast. After a few minutes, she got up and stood in line to wash her hands. (gross motor skills) While waiting, she was standing very close to the other child in front of her. With the assistance of a teacher, Athena washed her hands and pulled out a paper towel from the dispenser. When she was done drying her hands, she walked over to an area with a lot of toys. She grabbed a stuffed animal. She then started crawling around the floor as she looked at the other toys. She found a pet carrier and proceeded to put the stuffed animal into the carrier. When she finished putting the stuffed animal in the carrier, she placed the carrier on a chair. She then looked around the toy
This worker picked the children up from Happy Kids Daycare at approximately 5 p.m. At around 5:15p this worker arrived to Amber’s home. Amber and the children greeted each other with a hug and kiss. Amber then instructed the children to put their things away if they did not have homework. When the children stated that did not have homework, Amber offered them a snack and refreshment. Bre’Asya stated she did not want anything to eat but wanted to watch TV instead. David Jr was given cookies and a drink for his snack. After giving David Jr his snack Amber began to prepare dinner as the children engaged in their preferred activities.
I observed Cielo, a preschooler, at my friends house. The observation lasted 30 minutes. I sat down on the couch and observed Cielo at reading books to us.
Erin balls up the fourth sheet of paper in the past hour. His idea is more intensive than he had originally thought, but he was almost done. He has spent too many nights working on this to stop now, and he probably couldn’t get a good grade from studying now His plan is finishes within a couple days of the final for Renholds’ class.
One day in middle school, the whole 8th grade class got to go to the gym because their teacher was out for the day. Everyone knew the gym was were the bullies came to harass the other kids. The 6th graders were sitting across the gym just minding their own business, no one really ever bothered them, unless they came to the 8th graders side of the gym. There were always a few of the kids that would happen to linger across sides and the inevitable always tended to happen. They never really saw a big deal with it, other than it being sitting with the older kids. Two of the older girls were sitting at the top of the bleachers, while the younger two had come over and sat almost at the bottom of the bleachers. Even though the 8th graders were supposed

There are many different kinds of support someone can receive from others love, emotional and encouragement. “Children have tremendous potential for success if they are provided the same support and guidance (Hjalmarson, 2011)”. The relevant scholarly information I found were saying the same thing a child need the support of their parent, caregiver, church leader, teacher and school counselor to help him or her have a successful outcome. If a child is nurtured and show attention he/she will flourish and go further than a child who does not receive the attention.
I enjoyed reading your post. Observations are a good way to learn what a child knowns. It can show the observer what areas a child is good in and what they are not so good in (Beaty, 2014, p. 2). Like you, I feel that there is nothing “wrong” with Tommy right now. Children go through development at a different rate and therefore what one three-year old goes through another might not until later.
I would make the topic of data collecting, organizing, and presenting relevant to the children by introducing it and modeling it. As an early childhood educator I understand that children should be allowed to explore and they are curious. They wonder as they explore and will ask questions. Furthermore I comprehend that each of these questions causes the need for children to observe, collect information or data, reflect upon our data, and determine answer and for theories around the world (Davis & Keller, 2009. p.70).
The location of the observation was at the Community Center (Early Childhood education program) at 11:00am to 12:30pm on April 15, 2014. The meaningful experiences in early childhood education can positively shape children's development. With a teacher is guidance authentic child-art activity can educate enrich young students' learning abilities, encourage positive attitudes toward other children, and more importantly, learn to interact with people around them in the contemporary world. However, art for young students often takes many diversified approaches and emphasizing questionable practices. Observation is a part of meaningful and authentic early childhood art education. Observation enriches children’s experiences in
During my second year of middle school, my parents thought moving to Mexico would be a marvelous idea. A month later I found myself in a small hamlet called San Cristobal. My mother mentioned how much she loved attending middle school there and that pretty soon I would too. My first day of school I noticed strange behavior among the teachers; they were all gathered near a vehicle scoffing at the students. I disregarded the incident thinking it was simply a bad morning for them. Once class had begun-for the whole seven hours-my teacher did nothing but teach us fourth grade math. The level of progress in which the students were in baffled me because at their grade level the adequate math would have been Algebra. Once the students were dismissed,
