Greek Pottery Ceramics has played a substantial role throughout history, so that is why the Greeks made sure to make a sizable imprint on ceramics through their intuitive approach on clay objects. Before we can learn about the ancient Greek ceramics we must first learn about ancient Greek itself. The culture is believed to of had its first evidence of burials in 7250 BCE, and the culture lasted all the way to 146 BCE. Ancient Greek culture has influenced the present day more than most people will ever understand, ranging from their form of government all the way to their architecture! In an article from the Confucius Institute it is stated that, “In 510 BC Cleisthenes introduced profound reforms which made democracy exist as a system of government for the first time in the world. In general reforms were to diminish the role of aristocracy, eliminate financial differences and mix the society” (Athens University, 1). Greek culture also played an immense role in the science and math world, ranging from Pythagoras and the pythagorean theorem to Archimedes of Syracuse and his foundations for hydrostatics. If you follow philosophy then you will know that their are big philosophy names in greek culture, for example Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. We all know about the vast amount of knowledge behind Greek architecture (Parthenon, temple of Zeus, Kalimarmanon), so we will talk about their art; Greek art ranged from sculptures to ceramics, and amazingly their art is still
