How can we make a difference in stopping pollution in Dubuque? We can add more trash cans outside so people won’t throw their trash out their window or when they’re walking they won’t throw trash on the ground. Also, Dubuque can make the people in jail, go out and pick up trash around the community. Another idea, we could ban all plastic bags in our city and just make it only paper and cloth bags. One of the things is that we can add more trash cans. That would help out a lot because people will see the trash can and they will go and throw their trash in there instead of on the ground. We would need the garbage men to pick them up so they wouldn’t just sit there. The second option could be that we could get the people from jail to come
Pollution and trash build up in Los Angeles has been accumulating and worsening for many years. The homeless population in Los Angeles also has been at an all time high. In areas like Van Nuys, Reseda, Downtown, and many more, there needs to be more trash cans near homeless encampments and along with those, cameras, which will document and hopefully successfully pinpoint potential littering suspects. The trash is not only harmful and damaging to our community but also Earth as a whole. By setting up more trash cans of which the city would be in charge of, it would hopefully encourage those who do frequently litter to throw away their waste properly. Besides putting up cameras and implementing more trash cans we can also set up a plan to benefit both our homeless citizens and the environment of our cities. The homeless give service to their city by keeping it clean and in return they gain food and shelter.
Landfills are filling up with more and more trash every day and are expanding. Just by separating our trash everyday into plastics, cardboard/paper, cans, etc., we can minimize what we put in the landfills. Even if recycling was mandatory, I think this would help a lot. I spent some time in Germany and was able to participate in recycling more in depth. They recycle almost everything and have strict trash rules. Food that was not consumed goes in one small bin and cans, boxes, paper, etc., were sorted into separate bins as well. If you had something that was not in the proper bin or if your trash bag had something that could be recycled they do not take the trash that day. Some of the food that was not consumed was buried, the cardboard/paper, etc., was sent out to be recycled and reused. All of this helps keep Germany green and clean. Maybe we should follow in Germany’s footsteps to help keep our landfills clean of items that can be recycled and used again. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, in 2006, only 32% of the trash that was picked up was recycled in the United States. This leaves 68% of trash that is still going to the landfills and not being recycled. Although this recycling average is low, The Environmental Protection Agency hoped by 2019 the recycle percentage would reach 75%. The amount of trash that one person generates is astonishing. According to the EPA from Green Waste, in a single day 4.5 pounds is thrown out, which is about 1.5 tons of solid waste a year per person. The EPA estimates that 75% of solid waste is recyclable, but 30% is actually being
Pollution is an issue that could potentially cause damage and recycling conveys an important role. An issue we currently phase is trash segregation, students aren’t recycling or separating trash as they should. As mentioned earlier, mindset is just as important as action - they have careless, ignorant mentalities. What my project proposes, are two main part the action and the mentality transformation. The action idea is to develop as community service recicle trashcans with that from the outside look the same as what its entering in them, an example could be a trash can full that physically look like a plastic bottle, so students only troth there there plastic
I believe that Dr. DeWall's findings are true, that teenagers are narcissists. Using the songs “Me myself & I” by G-Eazy and “Don’t Let Me Down” by The Chainsmokers as an example.
Here are many ways we can make a difference in Dubuque. if everybody helped out we could make Dubuque a clean place with no trash on the ground. If people stopped throwing cans and empty bottles on the ground and empty packs of gum Dubuque would look alot nicer than it does now with all the trash. Dubuque has the 9th most drunk people in Iowa and that's bad and unsafe for people who like to walk and if people don't drink on the weekdays people will be a lot safer. If people don't drink at all then people will be more safe all week and weekends. I know that dubuque is not safe with all the pollution in the river and streets it makes the river look dirty and you might run over a can’s that might scratch your boat or you might run over a plastic
One plan is that every household should have three trash cans to assort the trash. The Enviromental Protection Agency, will have to invest money on bins and hiring staff. However, those investments will be rewarded. On the other hand, people is already recycling at a high rate.which is around 95%, but they say it is not enough. they
Have you ever thought about what the Eastern Shore would look like without so much waste? Throughout the Eastern Shore there is garbage everywhere, all because people don’t think twice about where they put their trash. Littering is a very serious problem it causes pollution, which is the reason for global warming. When you litter you’re polluting the air; polluted air is very dangerous for your body. Also when you litter you may receive a ticket that's not really worth it, when you could throw your trash in the garbage can. So, stop littering and help make the Eastern Shore beautiful again by picking up the trash around you.
If I was governing a city I would put waste management in my top 10 priorities, so my city wouldn’t have to worry about pollution and trash all over the place. My city would be just perfect. We would have trash day everyday. Everyone would have a job and be very happy. We would have a new system of getting rid of trash. My city would very clean and would be flourishing. Our city would be the cleanest in the world and everyone who visit it will very impressed.
How much waste is being produced daily in our cities is unnecessary and how many people are homeless is outrageous. There are many ways all of the people in our cities can help but it would be easier if your committee starts the “wave” so to speak. Firstly we need to get rid of abandoned or closed houses. In addition we need to save all good foods that are good but are getting wasted.Last but not least we need to make sure this does not keep happening. I agree with the idea of taking a strong stand against homelessness with help from the government or private organizations.“Homeless people in our cities should be given access to services, such as regular food donations, public restrooms, and camping facilities, because it would improve life
What improvement would make our community better. Helping people with their homes it would make the community look better. An improvement I would make is more assistance to those in need because they may need home repairs, transportation and help cleaning and cooking.
If you were to say make the trash bins free and make it to were anyone, if they choose to could pick one up at anytime, then make it to were you could gain somthing for "going green" then it would work out much better. Marketing is a big thing to, you have to make your ad appeal to the people in some way. There needs to be a better reason then just saving the enviorment, because some people just don't care, they are greedy and only want to do something if they can gain something else. Making a point system of some sort would be the best option in my opinion since it would allow people to gain points and get rewards from it, like cash, gift cards, cupons, and other useful stuff that could help someone in need, so you would be solving two
For the simple reason, that not everyone follows these simple procedures such as the three R’s (reuse, reduce, and recycle). Statistics that we found of how $72 million would be needed to disinfect the Chicago River were so unrealistic. Most of the statistics we found were unbelievable, one would never imagine how much garbage was produced just by one person. At first when researching we thought about pollution as a whole and made an estimation of how much the cost would be to solve it. The amount was three times our million dollar budget. Therefore we decided to start small in our community of West Chicago. Jessica and I decided that the first step in slowing down littering was by putting more garbage cans in our parks and forest preserves. It may sound like nothing but we believe that the reason why people don’t dispose of their garbage is because of laziness to actually stand up and go to one or find one. Personally speaking I believe this project could one day be real. In addition, being Mrs. Durbin’s student was great help when figuring out how to get information out to people and how to do the personal narrative, personnel, and
Firstly, more bins could be placed around the beach to discourage people from littering and the fence line should be repaired.
Littering and Pollution are the two main environmental problems in my neighborhood. Littering is a serious problem in Broward country and in some areas of Miami Dade County. Enforcement of anti-littering laws in both of these areas is very poor. The amount of paper that we are handed by companies promoting products and services to us, by our schools and at our places of work is too much. Some schools and companies choose to reduce the amount of paper they hand to the public by using emails and websites to communicate, but a large percentage of them continue to send most information through paper. These days most people drive cars which has contributed to air pollution. Air pollution affects the whole country in one way or another because we
Pollution is a major problem globally and it becomes greater as the human population continues to rise exponentially. One of the major problems with increased population is higher waste production, which creates increased air, soil, and water pollution. To resolve this problem waste reduction must be of primary importance in preventing and reducing pollution. Waste management can be an expensive undertaking if not managed correctly so sustainable practices must be addressed. While pollution prevention and reduction programs can be expensive if not managed correctly, waste reduction is essential for the reduction and prevention of pollution.
