Can you be collaborative without being collegial? Why or Why not?
What are the benefits of collegiality?
Collaborative and collegial do go hand in hand most of the time. However, I believe people can be collaborative without being collegial. The reason for this is that I believe people can work together towards one specific goal or outcome, without having to form a relationship with others involved. Furthermore, I do believe that if working on a project long enough collegiality will increase over time and any project or goal will be better off.
Some of the benefits I found to collegial is that it builds rapport with school staff, increases professional growth and development, organization, and professional commitment. The more collegiality
Collaboration is when a student contributes to a group’s joint intellectual efforts through work ethic, leadership, and service. The purpose of the bottle rocket project was to display our understanding of velocity, and determine what factor could keep the rocket in the air the longest. The purpose of the book club project was to display our critical thinking skills and effectively

I like how you had stated that you had a negative understanding collaboration back when you were in school. I can agree, that I had similar negative experiences with collaboration and force collaborations felt like the group was paddling Upstream; although, the tasks were completed the effort that was needed it was exhausting. I found collaboration that is not forced and with individuals passionate about an end goals, seem to run smoothly, are fun and flow.
Collaborative efforts have created more cross-curricular focus throughout the school. When teachers know what each other are teaching, they can support each other in their own curriculum.
Our goal is to work collectively and cohesively by converging our mindsets and strengths together. We feel that it is essential for us to work well together and create meaningful relationships in order to be successful in both the Business Management and Managing Work and Teams courses. The vision of our team is to establish strong teamwork skills that will supplement our future success throughout our four years at Smith. As a team we envision achieving these goals by creating an open environment where team members feel comfortable to communicate their opinions and ask questions. We will implement this by utilizing a collaborative mindset where we will be able to learn from each other and share our learnings with our future teams. As a team
Linda Albert’s Cooperative Discipline Model was designed to allow teachers to utilize specific strategies to reach individual students and help modify their behavior. According to Albert, students choose their own behavior. As teachers, we cannot control a student’s behavior choices, but we can influence them. “Using a comprehensive approach, "Cooperative Discipline" deals with all three discipline types: corrective, preventive, and supportive. It addresses the topics of student motivation, avoiding and defusing confrontations, ways to reinforce desirable behavior, building student self-esteem, when and how to involve parents and others, and how to discipline cooperatively.” (Albert, L., (1990))
The two words most often used, ”cooperative and collaboration,” can easily be both applicable to the United States of America and other countries today, and are still often used to describe contract negotiations for the United States of America as well as other countries. (Barnardin & Russell, 2013).
The most recent collaborative experience I’ve been a part of was an entirely student-run production of Next to Normal at my school. After barely any cooperation from my school’s administration, the cast took it upon ourselves to raise the $3,000 required for rights, find a rehearsal space outside of school, and find independent ways to advertise. The environment in rehearsal was equally collaborative. Our two directors were students who were also in the show, both of whom very much respected and accepted our ideas and opinions about characters, blocking, and how to tackle the tough material the show focuses on. I learned through this experience that a, even if I do consider myself to be an incredibly open-minded person there is always room

I would collaborate with the unit manager to design the team. We will select diverse champions with different backgrounds, experiences, skills and qualifications. After forming the team, using the similar assessment tools, I will assess the members. This is to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. I would provide the team with the clear idea about the project, purposes, activities included, goals and the timeline to achieve the goals. Depending on the strengths and weaknesses of the members, I will assign the job to the team. The purpose of the activities planned is to make sure the staff are in compliance with the existing policies and protocols of the unit. The team will do chart audits and tracking of the staff activities to ensure the
Throughout this essay I will reflect on and analyse my four-week placement experience, which was in a charitable organisation that promotes healthy living within its local community and the surrounding areas. I intend to highlight how developing three aspects of their service provision could help improve inter-professional working. The three aspects are the clarification of roles within the organisation, failures in communication with their partners, and how becoming a community development trust could benefit them and the community they serve. I will look at the changes they should consider and the staff that would be involved in these and whether one of the aspects would still meet their quality requirements. As my placement is a
