How do you define happiness? Like all emotions, words are not sufficient to describe the feeling you get pulsating through your body. Happiness can be an infant looking into the eyes of their mother, the tearing of wrapping paper on a Christmas morning, or even just a good laugh with a loved one. It varies from person to person, but I feel that in this day and age happiness for most people correlates with three things: their career, financial status and relationships. Life is certainly a roller coaster with its ups and downs but all you can do is try to make the best out of the hand you are dealt. Happiness will never be a destination but rather one of life’s journeys that every individual will embark on in order to find meaning in their lives. "Find your passion". My ears will bleed if I have to hear this again! I wish it were as easy as it sounds, but choosing what you want to do for the rest of your life is not the simplest task. I’m currently undecided what my true passion is but I do believe that some of my happiness in the future will have to do with the career that I pursue. My sister, to me, epitomizes what it means to find your passion in life. A couple years ago, my sister was going to school for a business degree. My father had always pressured her to pursue business because he said it would make a lot of money. She went through course after course, found a job, but at the end of the day she was miserable. She hated her job and ultimately quit to go into being a
Everyone has distinct viewpoints of happiness. It is subjective. Happiness for a lot people is a form of something a person does that makes them comfortable or something they really appreciate doing. Some people say happiness is hanging out with their loved ones. Others say happiness is when they distance themselves from everyone to do their own thing in their own world. Since people have an alternate viewpoint of happiness, the definition isn't particular and the meanings are diverse.
Happiness is something that most people can’t achieve. It's a feeling that most people can learn. You can’t learn feelings like anger and depression. You can learn the steps that can guide you into happiness through fulfilling desires. Happiness is something that could be simple or complex. Seeing a puppy could make you happy or winning the lottery.
Happiness is something that all people, no matter what race, gender, or social class, strive for. Based on lifestyle or perspective each person has their independent idea of what happiness is, but everyone shares an end goal to live their definition of a happy life. Many people, though, struggle in finding their way to this goal. They face hardships and challenges that test their happiness every day. Happiness, though somewhat indirectly, does take learning and training to discover and maintain.
Although there are a number of different nuances and qualifications for this particular term, happiness actually can be defined. In fact, it usually helps to best define happiness in terms of what it is and what it is not. Happiness is certainly a state of fluctuation there is no consistent, prolonged state of felicity. If so, it then becomes normal, the normal becomes boring, and the result a sort of benign content becomes a bland, meaningless state devoid of any significant stimulus. Instead, what is needed for happiness is the vicissitudes of life. Were there no unhappiness, there could not be happiness. Happiness, therefore, is a function of rebounding from and considering the unhappiness that is a potential for virtually almost everyone, although the unhappiness for a particular individual is most relevant to him or her. With that in mind one of the most essential qualities regarding happiness is the fact that it is extremely relative, much like motion, and is best defined as the feeling of satisfaction (ideally punctuated by elation) one gets after achievement or averting the negative vicissitudes on might have encountered.
What is happiness? A feeling or euphoria or a feeling of accomplishment, perhaps both? Is happiness something we can create or something that appears to us when we need it most? I feel that happiness is something that is unique to each person. What fills me with inner joy might not for others and vice versa. Happiness is subjective, but one thing I think everyone will find is that a part of their happiness is found in growing as a person. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone and maybe happiness is found there too! For me, happiness is best achieved when I am growing as a person. Working through obstacles that have come up in my path, expanding my horizons through meeting new people, or learning something new in a class. I have come to see that when I push myself out of my comfort zone (physically or emotionally), this is where I find happiness.
In my definition of happiness, happiness is when someone who experiences frequent positive emotions. These emotions can all be illustrated with joy, interest, and pride. An unhappy person often portrayed negative emotions, such as anger and sadness.
Happiness is something that everyone seeks. It is one of the sole purposes of our lives to find it. Still, there are some people who don’t even know what it is yet. Happiness is when you feel at peace. It is when times are at best and you feel good.
Happiness is being surrounded by loved ones, having hobbies, and being challenged. Each one of
Throughout history humankind has been trying to define happiness. What is it exactly and how do we obtain it? We always think that happiness is a place to be or a destination and technically, that is the main premise or goal of our lives; to obtain happiness. So our whole lives go by from the minute were born to the last breath we take in a quest to work hard in order to reach that destination. Naturally, many philosophical writers have jumped on the bandwagon and put in their two cents of their views on the matter of happiness. Alexander Pope talks about the relationship and purpose man has to the universe in An Essay on Man, Voltaire wrote about living in blind optimism with a false notion of happiness in Candide, and Samuel
I define happiness as being the one and only creator of your own experience, choosing to take pleasure in what you have, right now, regardless of the circumstances, while being the best you that you can be. Happiness is feeling safe and supported no matter what your doing, and not being ashamed of who you are. Finally, happiness is, fundamentally, a choice. Your choice.
Happiness is not a strange term to us. We usually use that word to express our feelings in every day. Additionally, more than a word, “happiness” is what we really need and always seek in life. However, finding and understanding deeply its meaning is not easy. The online dictionary, “vocabulary.com” defines, “Happiness is a sense of well-being, joy, or contentment. When people are successful, or safe, or lucky, they feel happiness.” Thus, we always wonder if we are happy or how could we be happier in our life. Happiness, therefore, becomes a goal for everybody.
For many people happiness has a different definition. Through this whole essay, I am going to be defining what happiness means to me and what it could also mean to others. Therefore to start off, we must first know what happiness means. The general definition of happiness means the state of feeling happy,or a pleasurable/satisfying experience. Now that both of us know what it means to be happy, we can now go past the simple material and move more into the detailed and deep meaning of what happiness could mean.
Happiness is often explained as a sense of well- being, joy, or contentment. I believe happiness is exactly that, but it has many factors that come into this word. Many things make people happy, such as love, becoming successful, having a family, or other things. Happiness is brought out everyday in people. For many people the littlest aspects of life are what make them content.
Happiness is what you make it. You are the only one that can control your happiness. My personal definition of what happiness is not is, putting others in control of your happiness by letting them make you feel that they make you happy because your kids are not going to make you happy, your spouse isn’t going to make you happy, a big house is not going to make you happy, own your own happiness and be responsible for doing those things that bring joy into your own heart, Independently of life, money and all of the materialistic things that don’t necessarily give you happiness. You have to take responsibility of that peace and that joy that lives inside of your heart not inside of your stuff. There’s so many ways you can control your happiness
It is certainly difficult to define happiness, because people have different perceptions about this abstract concept. In my opinion, various factors are considered crucial in the pursuit of a happy life. (Great!)
