Change is often viewed as a “bad” thing. People believe that they could avoid change if they stick to doing something on a daily routine, but life is full of change. Whether we realize it or not, change occurs on a daily basis; we cannot avoid change. Some change may be miniscule, while other types of change can have a huge impact. Although change may have a huge good/bad impact, we all benefit from change; change should embraced.
One moment can change your life. Deciding to go to Early College High School impacted my life in several different ways. For instance, I lost all my friends from middle school which was very devastating since we had been friends for various years. It was a change going to a new school and not having my friends with me, but in the end it was beneficial. I learned how to come “out of my shell” to make new friends; I was able to find information about myself such as my strengths and weaknesses. Change helped me grow and reveal valuable information about myself. Change can give one strength they need to believe in themselves. Attending Early College High School has affected me by changing who I am; I use to be the shy girl who would

My summer of 2017, I decided to take an English summer course that would take over the majority of my summer. At first, I was not accustomed to spending my summer writing essays, but I had to stay up late some nights to revise my essays. This allowed me to become flexible since I was not able to hangout with family a lot this summer and I had to spend my time doing homework. This change could help my my junior year of high school since many people claim that it is the hardest year, so it gave me the ability to become adaptable to new circumstances. Change enables one learn to how to embrace chaos in a way that seems foreign but acceptable and achievable. Which can then, boost one’s confidence when faced with different/challenging
Since entering Havre middle school, I have noticed distinct changes in myself. Some people deals with all kinds of changes in life, but some people do not have to really deal with a lot of changes and stress. Some people have to deal with hard changes and some people have to deal with easy ones. Other people have to deal with stressful changes and some people do not. For instance, here are some of the changes I have to face:
A common misconception is changing oneself for self improvement compared for the acceptance of other peers and classmates. Changing oneself to achieve goals and improve on oneself is beneficial in developing self confidence, while assimilating based off
Life cannot continue without the possibility of going through change. There was a moment in my life where it all took a turn and the words of Maya Angelou spoke to me in a way that impacted the way I live each and every day, teaching me to keep moving forward. As I looked at the world with my mind filled with turmoil, high school became a greater challenge than expected, and the world had only grown darker. However, through the stress of meeting the expectations of my teachers, one showed me that even through the toughest times, laughter is all it takes to turn it all around. Time had passed, and I learned a lot by the time I finished the course, which led to my neverending desire to look at the world more closely. Rather than staying in my
Webster’s Dictionary (2016) defines change as to become different; to make (someone or something) different; to become something else. Many individuals embrace change and others resist change, but working in the medical world it is inevitable that we will come in contact with change. Many times we have all worked with someone who does things “the old way.” Why do they resist something new? In an article by Dr. Alyn (2011), the reasons why people resist change were reviewed. People resist change for the following reasons: they do not see how the change is beneficial, they don’t recognize the benefits are worth the investment to adopt change, and they weren 't involved in the decisions (Alyn, 2011). Knowledge related to this rationale should provide insight for leaders as they prepare to influence change.
My adolescent years were not always easy, and proved to be a complicated learning process filled with lots of failures. This is a time when the brain is changing, as well as the hormones inside our bodies, which can reflect how we behave on the outside. At the time this was not so noticeable for me, but as I look back, I can see how the biological, social and cognitive changes I was undergoing really had an effect on me. I began to think differently, my behavior changed and I started to change physically, some of these were for the better, and some were not so appreciated.
The world is always changing, sometimes for that better and other times for the worst. For me, that one change was the one thing that I’d always needed. The event that changed my life was the day I received my acceptance into Mayfield. My admission into Mayfield led on a string of changes that helped me finally accept who I really was as a person and helped me appreciate the value of friendship.
Change can be a wonderful thing, however change isn’t always good, sometimes it’s a hit and miss type of thing but as the old saying goes “Try and try again” somewhere along the road of trying, it’s bound to be the right decision to make the change! It take time, planning, organizing, skillful thinking, people coming together with ideas and decision making to make change
At the beginning of my final year, this was a rough change to go through. Juggling a job, maintaining grades, participating in extracurriculars, and applying for colleges placed a lot of stress on me. As the year went along, I started to realize this was a way to experience and react to sudden change and step outside of my comfort zone. Despite not being useful to my future directly, the transition period has taught me how to adjust to different situations and handle numerous activities at
My biggest change started with college applications. In high school, filling out college applications and such can be summed up in a simple way, “ it sucked”. Not one college applications or federal financial aid was enjoyable. It is tedious and took forever. My process had gone sour when I wasn’t getting in to the big named schools that I wanted to, and I wasn 't getting scholarships. I hadn’t understood why my grades weren’t good enough. Getting a little bit over average grades didn’t secure me scholarships. All the time i spent trying hard in school and going for higher level classes even though I knew I wasn’t going to get the A, might have been my down fall. Why didn’t I just take normal classes and get the easy A?
Change is a vital part of life, it allows us to grow and mature overtime. Whether you want to believe it or not, we go through changes. We find different outlooks, styles and sometimes we may even change our personality, or maturity level. My choices over the course of this semester have changed me for the better. I started this class oblivious to the norms and traditions of a college English class. I must admit that for the first few weeks I was shocked at how different college is from my simple high school English course.
Change can happen in both our personal and professional lives. In professional organizations change is a necessity if they wish to remain competitive. Banker (2012) wrote "organizational change is essential for short term competitiveness and long-term survival" (p. 63). I work for public sector organization and over the last year a new leader has been trying to change the organization. He has not been completely successful as he is not looking at lessons learned from other companies. Among those lessons are looking to the past when changes were promised, failure to communicate with the line level employees and managing the politics, especially with the supervisors who were supposed to be implementing the change. Even with the current
Change is inevitable; it is a natural part of life. Everything changes and evolves around us and within us constantly, but it is how we embrace change that really matters. Change is healthy, without it we would become stagnant and we wouldn’t grow. If there were no change in healthcare it too would become stagnant; there would be no new emerging research on how to treat or improve chronic illness or no improved procedures in preventing infections, there would be no new techniques on how to avoid adverse events such as medication errors or falls, there would be not technological advances etc. Everything would be at a standstill if there were no change, leaving no room for improvement, which would ultimately lead to negative outcomes. Change is one of the many gifts given to us to grow both mentally and spiritually as a person. As we age, change becomes essential to the life of all human beings. Embracing change allows us to thrive in this world full of challenges. It is a basic and fundamental step one needs to take in life to excel. In order for us to reach our fullest potential, “the greatest gift to give [to ourselves] is that of [our] own self-transformation.” (Lao Tzu) I have come to the realization that as life continues, our experiences teach us moral values and ultimately molds us into the person we are destined to be. One gift that was bestowed onto me was the willingness to persevere and succeed. Having undergone two years of highschool, I have successfully been able to persist and transform into the confident public speaker I am today.
At the beginning of junior year I realized that I needed to change the way I approached high school. I was being way too careless with my work, and it was showing in my grades. The maturity that I gained throughout the summer before junior year changed my current perspective of my life choices, and changed me for the better.
Over the course of my time in school, I have changed greatly as a reader, learner, and studier. It seems that each year, my abilities to write, study, and obtain knowledge increase. These changes happen because of growing age and maturity, along with just becoming more and more used to school. Throughout my time as a student I have constantly been making changes, but the real change happened in high school. Some years changing more than others, I have slowly transformed and became better at all aspects of school.
