Abraham Lincoln was a great leader of change. Even though every leader of change possesses different qualities, in my opinion, I think a leader of change has to be confident, brave and determined. They should also should make the right decision and have good integrity. Abraham Lincoln is a great example of this. Lincoln was the sixteenth president of the United States. His presidency was during the civil war. Abraham was very confident and determined in every decision. For example, in the civil war, he presided over a country torn apart over slavery and led it through it. Abraham was very confident from a kid to President. He had endured a lot in his life, so he had to be confident enough to accomplish things. His mom died when he was nine,
Abraham Lincoln was one the best leaders and commanders this country has ever had. And that wasn’t just noticed by a few people, it was noticed by many. Frederick Douglass describes Lincoln in his “Oration in Memory of Abraham Lincoln” and being “swift, zealous, radical, and determined.” He ended his statement by saying “his memory will be precious forever” (Document K). Another quality that made Lincoln such a great leader was that he thought of the country as a whole before himself.
Abraham Lincoln created change because: He abolished slavery, he had a mixed mindset, and because he made the absence of slavery. Abraham Lincoln changed the world because he changed how people look at and treat colored
Across time, political leaders have often been remembered for their greatness by how they faced challenges than with what particular skills or abilities they had during their time in office. This statement is known to be true as political leaders are often expected to solve certain issues or challenges when in office and if their contributions benefit the state or country. Additionally, history books, records, and scholarly journals will take note of a leader’s response to challenges, how they are handled, and if the issue is solved more than whether they adequately used certain skills and abilities to solve the problem. In short, challenges, when faced, allow the political leaders to be remembered more so than their talents.
Abraham Lincoln overcame the odds of becoming president. He overcame the odds by giving short but very powerful and meaningful speeches. Becoming president was a struggle because he was very strongly opinionated, and he was not liked by the majority of the people. Abraham found many inconsistencies between the “popular sovereignty” principle and the Dred Scott decision within the courts. The popular sovereignty principle was an idea of Abraham Lincolns rival, Stephen Douglas. After he pointed out those inconsistencies the rivalry became more intense.
History is flooded with important leaders and figures. Some of the best leader’s America has ever seen are Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. Jefferson played an incredibly important role in the foundation of America. In his two terms he managed to cut the national debt and military in half, and expand the country itself by more than half with the Louisiana purchase. Jefferson was able to do these things because he had such a strong head on his shoulders - he had firm beliefs and refused to back down from them. While it may be argued that Jefferson did go against his word most of the time, his pride allowed him to act against what he preached because he knew his actions would be successful. President Lincoln is best known for the addition of the 13th amendment to the constitution and the emancipation proclamation, ending all slavery in
He showed that all men are equal no matter the color of their skin or where they come from. He made a speech that is proof of him being an inspiration. “Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that "all men are created equal." were his own words, he made a very important point when he did his gettysburg address speech. Some caucasians saw what he wanted for a better country, but the confederation still didn't see the equality. The confederates did not see the African Americans as humans only animals. That made Abraham want to and accomplish proving equality among all people when he freed the slaves for captivity in the confederate states.
Yes there is other people who stood out for what they did but Abraham changed the civil war which could have changed the world if nothing wound have been done. It was Lincolns strong commitment and his leadership that made it posible for America. Lincoln used advantages while he was in presidency he had loyal people on his side. However his bold unchanging opposition to slavery he eventually ended slavery. The Amendments

A leader is not only characterized based on personal qualities, but rather self determination; not only for yourself but for a nation as a whole. Leadership is based on the creation of a positive impact on others. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the U.S expressed his leadership through past experiences as he was turning into an adult that was going to face the world, and unite America. Although Lincoln was not wealthy as a child he was inspired by own personal experiences in which he found the motivation to run as president of the U.S. Eventually, he earned his position into the presidency and created positive changes for the people in order to provide support for the underprivileged.
Throughout history, there have been great leaders, some for the good of humanity, and some for the not-so good of humanity. The one element all leaders have in common is in some way, have changed the course of history. The one great leader I have found to be interesting and envision of a great leader is William Bradford, an original passenger on the Mayflower, and the first ever governor elected on what is to become, American Soil.
Imagine how the state of the world will be today without the leadership of the United States of America to police the world. Think about Iraq during Saddam Hussein’s regime, Libya during Arafat’s regime and the behaviors like Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). President Abraham Lincoln was a visionary leader and an ethical leader when leading the United States through the Civil War during his Presidency. Abraham Lincoln was a man of humble beginnings who, though self-taught, rose to greatness through the many leadership qualities that he possessed. Quality traits that Lincoln possessed were honesty, integrity and a great devotion towards the rights of the people. It was probably through his impoverished upbringing that he formed such a bond with common folks. Lincoln was able to show the country that an ordinary person, with strong character and integrity, was capable of inspiring others to greatness. His ability to communicate through dynamic speeches was inspirational to a country so badly in need of someone to return the country to the unity that it had once had. His commitment to the rights of individuals was a cornerstone of his
