Ancient Egyptian Clothing
Introduction
Do you still wear animal skins and other natural resources that are? Ancient Egyptian slaves made clothes for the people. They used a simple machine which combined the materials. The materials they used were animal skins, natural resources, and a fiber crop to make clothing.
Who Made The Clothes
Ancient Egyptian clothes are way different than they are now. According to,“ Garments”, “The manufacture of clothes was apparently mostly women's work.” The workshop was run by noblemen or other men of means (Garments). The women were more prone to make the clothes than men. There were workshops to make the clothes run by noblemen or other men of means, but the chose to work at home (Garments). After all it was also there job to watch over the children. As people can see, Clothes have changed tremendously over the years.
How Did Ancient Egyptians Make Clothes
The ancient Egyptian women created a machine that was made of stone. According to, “Garments”, “ Animal skins, above all leopard skins, were sometimes worn by priests and by pharaohs is their role as first servants of the god.” By all means, animal skins were a big part of their clothing because it was really easy to find. In Ancient Egypt the people lived differently than us. Instead of showers they used lakes or rivers. Instead of buying food at a store they have to hunt for their food. They also grow their food. The main crops they use are barley and emmer wheat. They use those items for making bread bread and beer. They even had their own language.

Wool was used to make hefty coats and to make into yarn to sowe robes and such. The two materials that they used as an alternative was flax and linen. Flax was a plant that the Egyptians grew and harvested and used the fibers to sowe clothing. This was a very reliable material as it is one of the strongest natural fibers and is more durable than others. It is typically lay to dry before it is sown.
