How Did Basketball Start

Basketball (or Basket Ball –then two words) was invented by Dr. James Naismith in December 1981. He was an instructor at Christian Workers in Springfield Massachusetts. On March 11, 1892 students and workers at the school played the first public game of basket ball. On March 22, 1983 Smith College in Massachusetts becomes the first women’s school to play basket ball. Men are not allowed to watch the games.

Basketball was so popular that colleges started to teach people the students the rules and made teams and college after college did the same thing.

Where did the history of basketball start out and where will it be in the future? These are some of the many questions that will be talked about during my time writing this essay. Some of the many questions that will be answered my be controversial to some and interesting for others. There are many ways I can talk about basketball but in this essay the points I make will come from historical facts and analysis.
