I selected Eratosthenes, the son of Agalaos for my famous mathematician because his name was really cool and i didn’t know anybody else to choose. He was born in 276 B.C and died in 194 B.C. His home town was Cyrene, Libya. Some findings Eratosthenes found was, calculating the circumference of the Earth, calculated the Earth’s tilt axis and also calculated the distance from Earth to the Sun. His education was very limited, he studied in the local gymnasium which was at his school.
