Dark and morbid, and yet intriguing all at the same time. Who can make you want to put the book down, but keep reading, all at the same time? The answer to this is, Edgar Allan Poe. He is the master of suspense. His pieces are normally very dark, suspenseful, scary, and morbid. Poe has a very interesting way of writing. He is considered one of the best and well-known authors of all time. Not a lot of people have the natural talent to write such dark literature. Some people can write scary stories, but their stories are nothing compared to Edgar Allan Poe’s stories. The reason for this is the fact that Edgar could take his horrifying ideas from his sad and awful childhood. Edgar’s mother died when he was a young boy and his father had abandoned his family before then. As a result, Edgar Allan Poe was put into the foster program. When he was 20, he secretly married his cousin, who at that time was 13. They got married publicly later on in their lives. Sadly, she died shortly after.
