Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1995- August 16, 1977) was born in Tupelo Mississippi. He was a great American singer and actor of the 20th century. He was one of the most important people of that time. He has been known as ‘’The King of Rock and Roll’’, or sometimes just ‘’The King’’. Elvis Presley was the first rock and roll star. He was a white man from the south. He mixed blues with country and country with gospel. This combination of musical genres was a great gift to popular culture. His looks and dancing were an inspiration for adolescents. He was marked as indecent and a bad influence for teens according to their parents, but his talent exceled. The song that made the entertainer famous was “That’s All Right Mama.” His manager Colonel Tom Parker helped him out, coached and advised him for the first two decades of his career. Later, he named Neal his new manager and Parker his adviser. He made 33 films. Presley has sold more than one million records. He still has the record for most awards as an artist. He debuted on a popular radio program, then on television in March 1955. He became a national star in 1956. In that same year, Elvis Presley released his first RCA single. He also performed on the Ed Sullivand Show three times. The star broke records for ratings. The last time he was present on the show was on January 6, 1957. In this same year “Too Much,” “All Shook Up,” and “(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear” had to be number one. At the age of 22, he bought Graceland mansion. Over the next years, he arranged many renovations to it. Elvis Presley honorably entered the army on March 24, 1958 and went to Germany for two years. His presence there was a huge media incident.
