Frederic François Chopin was born in a small town called Zelazowa Wola, near modern day Warsaw, Poland on the first of March, 1810. `His music has been described as ‘the epitome of the very soul of the piano’, ‘the piano brought to life’, ‘winged keys’. Indeed, Frédéric Chopin is usually associated with his piano ballades and nocturnes, mazurkas and polonaises, études and preludes, sonatas and scherzos. And yet, alongside that great road, there was a small path, modest but noteworthy: his songs both great and small

Frédéric François Chopin (1 March 1810 – 17 October 1849) was a genius Polish composer and a virtuoso pianist during the Romantic period of piano mainly creating solo piano compositions. Chopin is a worldwide-known piano composer who led his era and is nationally known whose “poetic genius was based on a professional technique that was without equal in his generation.” (qtd. The Romantic Generation p. 284) Throughout his career, Chopin was able to change the perceived viewpoint of musical articulation and composition. His music contains many mysteries and wonders that involve a singing legato, creating the sound of unbroken sound from the piano, like a human voice.
Chopin had many works for the piano that were amazing and it won over many listeners during his time. Where he had a unique style at the time that helped him set himself apart from the rest of the composers during this time. Chopin wrote “sixty-one mazurkas, six-teen polonaises, twenty-six preludes, twenty-seven etudes, twenty-one nocturnes, twenty waltzes, three sonata, four ballads, four scherzos, four impromptus and many individual pieces” according to the biography of Frederic-Chopin. Chopin music was considerate, romantic and beautiful. It is very difficult to play and has many solos for the piano. The concerto no. 1 in E minor op.11 is a very difficult piece and extremely hard to play. The variations are very unique, and one of a kind

His father, Adam Liszt, an extremely talented musician, gave young Liszt his earliest lessons on the piano. It wasn't long before he realized the uncanny talent his son possessed. Seeing this, he placed his own career as a musician on the back burner in order to obtain further musical education for his son, a blossoming prodigy. Soon young Liszt was studying composition with Antonio Salieri, and piano with Carl Czerny, a previous student of Beethoven. By the time he was eight, he had written his first
