"The superior man understands what is right; the inferior man understands what will sell" - Confucius. In other words, a person who knows what is just will seek rectitude, or what is right from their standpoint. However, one who understands "what will sell"only cares about gaining. In the book George Washington, Spymaster: How the Americans Outspied the British and Won the Revolutionary War, George Washington was an outstanding spy who wanted the Americans to be free. He was also a superior spy to the British. I can prove this because George was intelligent, sneaky, and he was carful. George Washington was a superior spy for many reasons. Washington had made him an agent long before, ordering him to pose as a Tory and to stay with the main British forces as they moved across New Jersey. Washington, of course, arranged for Honeyman's "escape" after getting his report. In modern spy talk, Honeyman was a "sleeper," an agent under cover in enemy territory and awaiting orders, usually for a single, vital mission."-Page 46. This evidence proves that George Washington was intelligent because Washington was the one who planned HoneyMan's escape after he gave his report, which was extremely difficult because HoneyMan was being carefully guarded by Washington's army. Although George Washington was extremely intelligent, being sneaky also helped him out spy the British. The second reason why George Washington was a superior spy is because he was extremely sneaky. According to the text, "When the French soldiers invited Washington to dinner, he eagerly accepted, hoping that he could get some information. And he got it, by listening patiently and taking little sips of his wine while the soldiers "dosed themselves pretty plentifully."
