Slavery literally split the nation into two (the north and the south) the civil war was an imminent war that was going to happen anyways. The 16th president Abraham Lincoln was also what caused the civil war because he wanted to end slavery as a whole and the south disagreed with him.

Slavery was a huge issue that both helped and hurt the Union during the Civil War, and later in the Reconstruction. African Americans had to make sacrifices in order to make reality their dream of being freed from the chains of slavery. America reached many changes through the beginnings of Civil Rights legislations, the changes in the power of government, as well as the amount of racism and it’s effects on society.
The Civil War was fought in the United States of America between the northern and southern states starting in 1861 and ending in 1865. The Civil War was the most significant time in the history of America. The Civil War was to be thought as the shaping of the American individual. The northerners and the southerner’s views on this war were different. The northerners viewed it as a revolutionary war and the southerners viewed it as rebellion. The war started out due to the many differences between the northern and southern states. Between these two regions laid economic, social and political differences, with slavery being the main root of the differences. As the war ended it caused many social and economic changes. One huge change was the abolishment of slavery. Race relation and slave confusions were tearing up the country’s political and social architecture. I believe that the Civil War has changed the way we look at this world today because once the Civil War came to an end it abolished slavery.
The Civil War was the bloodiest war in American history. America was split into two sides that had strengths and weaknesses against each other. It seemed they were the complete opposite. The North had more factories and railroads, while the South had more farms. Politics had a strong part to play too. The North had a better government, while the South struggled to form one. Finally, the North had a larger army throughout the war.
The Civil War was a disgrace of angered men who wanted land and money, and a symbol of pride for what we received after fighting for. Hundreds of thousands of men fought bravely in war, and most of those lives were lost. Strategies were created to end the war quickly and generals were trusted to bring them back a win. However, the causes of the Fugitive Slave Act of 1850, and the Industrial Revolution, and the Missouri Compromise all caused a great divide between the North and the South, leading to the Civil War.
The Underground Railroad gave runaway slaves a sense of hope because it sheltered them and helped free slaves so they could start a new life. The Underground Railroad was a network of secret tunnels used to house runaway slaves as they tried to escape slavery and make it to the Northern States. The network of tunnels extended through 14 Northern States and Canada until fugitive slave hunters could not get them.
The start of The Civil war contained many conflicts between the Northern and Southern States throughout the 1800’s. Harriet Tubman served in the civil war more than any other woman in history. The states rights launched the struggles and conflicts, followed by the attempt at the Missouri Compromise. The Missouri Compromise was then dismissed, due to the Dred Scott case that let to President Lincoln’s election in 1960.
Melba Beals, Harriet Tubman, and Mother Jones were brave individuals who enacted change. Melba fought for racial rights, Harriet for freedom, and Mother Jones for worker’s rights. All three are very courageous people. Harriet Tubman and Melba Beals both fought for equal rights with personal experience, while Mother Jones fought for worker's rights because she saw others getting hurt.
The Civil War was the largest war in United States history. This war initiated because the Southerners owned slaves and the northerners were abolitionists, they believed in the end of slavery. After many disagreements between the North and the South, the South began to secede from the Union and formed the Confederacy. This war was the cause of over 620,000 deaths, more deaths than any

The Civil War caused great leaps and bounds in technology. not only for guns and cannons but medical support and transport. we had to advances in weapons transportation and medicine. Life wouldn't be the same without these advances.
The Civil War was a huge devastation for the United States, and the war that was going to determine if the U.S. would be broken into states or become an indivisible nation. The primary conflict of the Civil War was the difference that the North and South had about slavery. The North wanted to ban slavery, but the South wanted to continue having their slaves to do manual labor for them. The Union won, but not without the loss of 625,000 lives (McPherson 1).
I think slavery started the civil war for multiple reasons. The slaves were probably way beyond their limits, when it came to cruel and unusual treatment by owners. They wanted to be free; they wanted to see what it feels like to be independent. Make their own money and not get screwed out of their pay. They wanted to be looked and treated as equals of the would to be United States. They did a lot of ground work, and they felt like they deserved respect and a pay out for their dues. I think they should be compensated as well.
Slavery, though it was an inexcusable, helped shape the nation that we live in today. In the last few weeks, I have become much more knowledgeable on the topic of slavery. People on both sides of the slavery argument (pro-slavery and anti-slavery) earnestly believed in what they stood for. The resistance to the end of slavery was likely out of fear, but some of the proslavery arguments were completely ridiculous.
The Civil war was one of the most significant and pressing period in the history of America. The war ended and halted centuries of slavery in the country and it also made a great deal of numerous political and social changes. While the most common cause of the Civil war is said to be slavery, there were several other factors involved also. Although slavery was the major cause it was definitely not the only cause of the Civil War.
