Harriet Tubman: The Women that Saved Lives Who was a more effective abolitionist,Harriet Tubman, Nat Turner, or John Brown?Harriet Tubman was a slave growing up. She escaped and became a conductor on the underground railroad. That’s when she started saving lives. Harriet Tubman was a much more effective abolitionist than any other, including Nat Turner and John Brown. She never had to use violence to free slaves, she saved more slaves, and she put her life in more risk. Harriet Tubman didn’t have to use violence or anger to free slaves, Unlike Nat Turner and John Brown. That’s what made her such an effective Abolitionist.
