I see the reformation to be something bad because in the case of Henry VIII who started the English reformation because the Pope Clement VII refused to annul Henry’s marriage to Catherine of Aragon. Henry decided to dissolve England’s monasteries to confiscate their wealth and worked to place the Bible in the hands of the people.
Also, the English Reformation produced many bad things because Henry took the power; there was an extensive persecution of Catholics.
Then, this reformation did not end well because the English reformation was consolidated with the accession of James I (James VI of Scotland. Then, he was forced to abdicate in 1689 in the Glorious Revolution in favor of his Protestant daughter Mary II. Then, in 1701, there was an

Queen Elizabeth gives courage and energy to England, Sir Francis Drake loots (4,600 profit %)globally from Spanish and is secretly backed by Elizabeth 1. The English defeat the Spanish Armada leaving way for centuries to come of English naval superiority.
After the Protestant Elizabeth ascended to the English throne in 1558, Protestantism became dominant in England.
The reformation is when the church split into the Church of England and Lutheranism. The Church of England was started by Henry the V111 while Lutheranism, was created by the acts of Martin Luther a successful reformer. Both churches had their many differences and similarities but the reformation was when people were being tortured for their religion and had to buy their way out of Purgatory with indulgences, and the bible did not say anything about indulgences or purgatory, plus the bible should have been the overall ruler not the pope. Luther saw these corruptions and started Lutheranism.
The New Reformation was an era with new ideas and feud between religions. In the 1500s, England believed in brand new things. Autocrats enforced the eulogized religion. Academies taught religions authorized by autocrats. Failing to comply with the eulogized religions is punishable by confinement, laceration, and death penalty. Complying with the wrong religion has its own risks for privy treasure, laxity, and vitality. Queen Mary accepted the Catholic religion and charred the Protestants alive and victimized them. Queen Elizabeth accepted and allowed Protestantism to be a religion. Queen Elizabeth allowed people to accept the Catholic religion without being persecuted. The Catholics desired to substitute Mary and replace Queen Elizabeth. (Linda Alchins, Religion in Elizabethan England, paragraph # 3). Catholics thinks that
The Protestant Reformation, followed by the Catholic Reformation, was an attempt to cleanse the Catholic Church of all corruption and blind teaching. As presented in the documents provided, the Protestant and Catholic Reformations represented great change in the life of Europeans. Whether positively or negatively, almost every European citizen felt the impact of the Reformations on their lives. This was due largely to the fact that the Catholic Church struggled to defend ideas, affecting the clergy, peasants, and nobles all in different ways.
Following the police shooting in Ferguson of Michael Brown, EJ brown was inspired to show “the contrast between the perception and reality of being an African American college graduate” (Neuendorf). African Americans are frequently portrayed and stereotyped as thugs and criminals irrespective of their true identities. EJ Brown was an educated black man who did not at all fit the stereotype that is so often shown in the media and wanted to bring light to the fact that most African Americans do not fit this stereotype and that they are so much more than what society sees them as. In these pictures, Brown took pictures of his African American friends in their college graduation gear, holding booking slates with their college majors on them. He was attempting to illustrate how society sees them as criminals and show who they truly are as college graduates with futures that do not involve any type of illegal activity. These pictures are so important for everyone who holds prejudices against African Americans purely based on their race because it has the potential to change their opinions for the better. Race is one of the most publicized areas of controversy and can be heavily based on stereotypes alone without evaluating other angles or digging for the truth. EJ Brown attempted to show the truth about how stereotypes about your race define who you truly are and there are so many people who do not fit the stereotypes that are so prevalent in today’s society. The artwork that he has created was absolutely effective in what he had set out to do because he changed the life of a young boy that now wants to go to college after seeing his pictures.
England developed their own Reformation later from the first Reformation. The Reformation in England produced a lot of notable figures and influenced monarchs like Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, and James I. In the early Reformation years, the bible was only accessible to clergy and the citizens had to rely on local priests to read them the Bible. One disagreement in the early Reformation years was between the Protestant leaders and the Roman Catholic Church. The argument was over the distribution of the Bible to the people in the common language instead of in Latin Vulgate. A man named John Wycliffe would then translate the Bible into the common language, because he believed that the English needed to be familiar with the Bible on their own
How did events during Henry VIII’s reign cause for a permanent shift in the religious system of England?
Frequently, I have been asked the question if being an outsider is universal? But more specifically, has everyone experienced being left out? And truthfully, yes, because everyone has experienced being the new kid or has been seen differently based on their ethnicity or reputation, like having dark skin or being emo. In essence, being excluded from society or even seen differently by others because of their appearance like Leopard man or because of their mental disorders like Lennie. However when you take a look at yourself, from the inside.
During the Baroque period, religion, politics and socioeconomic were influenced by the Reformation and Counter-Reformation movements. The reformation revolution took place at the Western Church and was led by Martin Luther during the 16th century (1517). The revolution resulted in the founding of Protestantism, which is today one of the major branches of Christianity. During the revolution, chaos aroused between the Catholic and the Protestant church because the Protestants are against some practices of the Catholic Church like the selling of indulgences and relics. The Reformation forced the masses to create a choice of religion ‒ to be Catholic or to be Protestant. It was a choice that had to be made and there were no alternatives. The revolutionaries noticed the corruption and the misused authority of the leaders of the church and they believed that things had to be changed and be put back in the proper order of the bible.
The reformation began because of the corruption in the Catholic Church and the enormous amount of power the church had over Europe. During the sixteenth century the Catholic Church had tremendous sovereignty over the population of Europe. It was almost impossible to fight the Catholic Church because of the
The Protestant Reformation was a major 16th century European movement aimed initially at reforming the beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. The Reformation in western and central Europe officially began in 1517 with Martin Luther and his 95 Theses. This was a debate over the Christian religion. At the time there was a difference in power. Roman Catholicism stands with the Pope as central and appointed by God. Luther’s arguments referred to a direct relationship with God and using the local vernacular to speak to the people. Luther’s arguments remove the absolute power from the Pope and the Roman Catholic Church in general. The revenue from the taxes paid to the Church would be reduced with Luther’s ideas, in part because of
To begin, the Protestant Reformation began in reaction to the Catholic Church’s rather corrupt practices. Prior to the Reformation, the only major Christian denomination in Western Europe at the time was Catholicism, headed by the Pope in Rome. Through many acts of violence such as the formation of the Spanish Inquisition and the slaughter of the Cathars, amongst others, Europe’s Monarchs had wiped out and suppressed any form of religious competition. With the Catholic Church holding a tight stranglehold over Europe, Catholicism was the only option. This allowed
There were several causes of the Protestant Reformation that effected society, politics, and religion in Europe during the 16th century.
Nationalism made the Catholics believe that Henry VIII was right to remove the pope even though they may not have agreed with Henry’s decisions. This change gave the Lutherans and other reformers great hope also, knowing now that their greatest rival, the pope, had been deposed. Unfortunately, other Englishmen who stood firm against the Act of Supremacy met strong opposition from the king. Soon after, another law was passed called the Law of Treason and Heresy. This law made sure that everyone recognized the king as the head of the church and more importantly, brought punishments to anyone who did not receive the king as the lawful head of the Church of England.
